Deoxyribonucleic Acid, for example... sounds impressive, right? But have you ever seen what happens if you put something in acid? It dissolves! If we had all this acid in our cells, we'd all dissolve! So much for the Theory of Evolution, Check MATE!

Pretty crazy to see some of the pictures and then look outside on this edge of the city and not even see a puddle right now. Our street used to back up with the slightest bit of rain and the city couldn't be bothered doing anything with the drains. But the people that lived in front of one of the drains finally had enough and dealt with it earlier this year so probably should go thank them
What time is the cutoff for UPS deliveries? Always thought it was 7pm or something but they dropped off an Amazon order at 10:22pm according to the tracking on Wednesday and I guess because of the time didn't want to ring the doorbell or anything. Was surprised to see it sitting out there in the morning. Soggiest parcel ever

I figured that since it was just a blaring over the loudspeaker that I wouldn't listen. Besides I am 50 feet higher than the river I assumed it was just because they are going to turn off our utilities. I can do without my morning coffee tomorrow.

Well I guess I should be thankful I live in the southwest corner of the city. There's still a bunch of "what ifs" hanging around the back of my mind, but I'm sure it will be fine. Stay safe people!

I'd like to know if the water has reached the banks of Eau Claire yet. There was an orange cordon on the ground along the river pathway. I wonder if it's reached that yet.
As for City Center, when I drove by that just before midnight, it was actually a rain puddle on the street next to Jamison Place. That large puddle had nothing to do with the Bow River.

Nice, my belongings in a parkade storage room in downtown are going to be toast in the morning. I think all our band equipment in the basement storage is toast too if the water goes that way.

It's a helpless feeling being half a world away while my hometown is a disaster zone. I know my wife is safe and sound in Bankview with food and water for days but still ...
My sister is in Marysville (Kimberley) I haven't heard from her since early evening.
Stay safe everyone.
