He may not be.

Lots of guys that get shuttled away from center never move back.

Tanguay, Cammalleri, Hall, Seguin. Etc.

Hoffner's Draft is my favorite.

6. Monahan
22. Mueller
28 Morrissey

Top line center and a pair of good d-men.

Looking at those draft lists it's very apparent that Lindholm is probably the most underrated player in this draft.

Or maybe Calgarypuck is just overrating him.

In the mock drafts he goes 8th, 9th, or 10th, not sure that is really underrating him.

It is pretty clear that the talent level is pretty even after the top 5.

Agreed.....although based on scouting rankings it would make more sense if Mueller and Morrissey were reversed.

I will be very disappointed if the Flames use a 1st round pick on a goalie, as several of these mock drafters seem to think the Flames will do.

I'd be ok with the Flames taking a G with their 3rd round pick if they were high on someone though

Tristan Jarry, if he's still on the board by then.

Would rather look at another of the big mobile defensemen in the third round.
I like this goalie as a potential fifth round pick.

If Feaster really wants to change the culture, wonder if he would select two of Lazar/Hartman/Tompher/De la Rose with our STL/PITT picks, depending who is available at the time of selection. Definite character/grit guys with some offensive upside. Read their profiles on FC in the prospect forum and they seem to be solid guys who are good bets to play in some capacity. Lots of prospects who are listed as boom/bust which scares the bejeezus out of me. Even if they end up on the 3rd/4th line, they seem to be guys who have a high compete level and are able to contribute in some capacity.

These guys seem like players who hate to lose while at the same time be able to contribute in an offensive role in the top 6/9.

Young offensive dman - like Subban Jr or Vannelli. OK with reaching a bit in the 3rd round on a player like this but not in the 1st round.

I say zero goalies this year. Lets take a one year break from drafting one

I can understand that notion, but with 9 picks in this draft, I have no problem using one from the third round or later on a goalie.

Heck, I'm hoping that by the draft we even have 10 or 11 picks by adding another pick or two in the top 60....of course, I'm probably setting myself up for disappointment as we'll probably somehow end up dropping a pick or two.

I guarantee that the Flames will draft a goalie.

I figure they'll use their fifth rounder on a goalie.

Enough damn goalies.

We don't even know what we have right NOW, yet.. Everyone is aware of the importance on the position, but Feaster really shouldn't overdo it. There's always a solid tender or two every year.

But the 1st rounders should be limited to big, hulking stay at home d-men, pure snipers, and big two-way centres only. Offensive d-men, "projects", undersized talents, and goalies can come later on..

I agree. I think the club should have a reservoir of goalies and they do. The thing with goalies it seems, is that you have to let them play NHL games for a stretch to really see what you have. I doubt the sharks would have traded Kipper for so little if he had played a half season as a starter and shown his talent. If they let the best 2-3 prospects rotate in with McDonald they will need a year or more to get a feel for what they have in the system now.

I suppose if the scouts feel there is a steal in net laying around in the later rounds then what's one more kick at the can, but I'm feeling fairly certain they wont draft one in the first round.
