I don't "hate" the guy, but jerking the organization around at the trade deadline left a bitter taste in my mouth. Plus, I think he was the problem for more than a few years, the elephant in the room that no one wanted to address.

But then I was never a fan of Lanny or care for Peter Maher that much either...

I cheer strictly for the sweater and have no affinity for players once they leave the organization.

Hmm, would this happen to be online? Do you know offhand? I never saw anything reported like that. Thanks

It really is pathetic. How quickly they forget what he did for the franchise year after year.

Would like to change prediction of Bruins in 6 to 4.

Pens have no commitment to defence, their 5mil plus players are invisible in all 3 zones, poor goaltending ,and awful puck management .

Their vaunted offence has 1 goal in two games.

I think #BostonStrong is a good storyline for the NHL in much the same way that the Yankees winning the World Series in 2001 would have been a good story for Major League Baseball (they made the World Series, but Mariano Rivera blew game 7). Derek Jeter was not safe at home plate against the Oakland A's that year, and one of Boston's goals against Toronto in the 3rd period of game 7 should not have counted after one of the most blatant interferences imaginable. Coincidence? Maybe, but I doubt it.

And Director of Hockey Operations Colin Campbell is on record complaining to referees in 2010 about calls that have gone against his son and the Bruins. Since then, the Bruins have seemed to get the benefit of the majority of the whistles. Coincidence? Again, maybe, but I doubt it.

Having said that, officiating has nothing to do with the results of the first two games of this series. The Bruins are badly outplaying Pittsburgh, and if Bylsma and Crosby don't get their acts together, this is going to be a short series.

Iggy's moved on. Why can't we? We are Flames fans, not Pen's fans. Perfectly fine if people don't want Iggy to win IMO. Has no bearing for me on his stellar career with the Flames, we will always have that. But he's gone and we need to move on.

I don't care about Iggy winning, whatsoever. I wish him good luck, but that's it. What he does from here on in does not benefit Calgary, and we need everything we can to benefit Calgary.

Plus, I want the Pens to lose, Iggy just happens to be there. The over-exposure of that stupid team is unbearable now... they're the NHL's love child, and they're being shoved down our throats. Seriously, screw them.

I heard it to at the sth event. Feaster called Meehan the morning he was traded and said they had a deal with Boston and they would like Jarome to waive. Meehan told feaster that even though he had a deal Jarome's camp didn't. They wanted Pittsburgh because they believed that would be his best chance to win.

they spent the better part of the trying to convince him to go to Boston. They even held a meeting whether or not to say no to Jarome. They decided if they did that then the would more then likely lose him to free agency and get nothing back. Iginla indicated he was more then willing to play the string out in Calgary.

Exactly, thanks Robbob. I had to go back and make sure i was not the first one who mentioned it. It was compelling, one of the highlights of the evening, in addition to the beer.

Glad I made it to as it was my first event like that. Been invited for years but this was the first time I managed to get down there. Free booze and food with pretty decent hockey discussions. Well worth it.

Definitely. As a flame Igina was awesome and a legend in Calgary. On Pittsburgh hes number 12, nothing more.

Common, the NHL`s love child... I do not think so. Right now, the Bruins appear to be a better team but if the NHL was sympathetic they would have the refs calling everything, things have reverted to pre-2004 in terms of hooking and holding.

This started with the Pens power play falling apart(game 1) followed up by one Boston goal and then complete panic with no leadership, either from the coach or the team. I agree the Penguins look like children out there, but not the NHL`s children, more like kindergarten.

That's fine, but there's a whole contingent falling over themselves with glee because it looks like he won't win the cup.

Just seems wrong. I don't know you "cheer for a sweater" without forming any emotional attachments.

Unfortunately there are 2-3 posters who are obsessed with Iginla and it's the only thing they are capable of talking about.

Really annoying seeing the same thing debated endlessly in this thread, things we've gone over 100's of times over the past 4 years.

I can't find any mention of this, and I just read some brief notes on what was said by Feaster at the event. It sounds like imaginative gossip. It would have been all over the net if it was said.

That's not how predictions work.
