Will the ps4 controller be larger? I hate how small the ps3 one is. The analog sticks are way too close to the D pad and 4 face buttons.

Not sure about the size, but the PS4 controller is something I'd have to get used to if I switched. I hate everything about Sony's controller. IMO, Xbox mastered the comfort of a controller.
With that said, getting used to a new controller is a minor speed bump if it means not having to pay a "fee" (full retail value) for goddam used games.

'Tis all very sad indeed. I've owned an Xbox since November 15th, 2001 when they came out and have been a huge supporter ever since. I was never a Sony guy and Xbox provided a good alternative for me as a former Nintendo gamer. However, the main thing for me has, as a gamer, always been the games. Microsoft's clearly moving in the direction of trying to please the "family" crowd and the less dedicated among gamers, and as others have said, as huge a leap as it would be for me, it's all definitely got me eagerly awaiting what the PS4 has to offer.

I won't be buying an xbox1 as per the info we have now but it will be interesting to see what happens at E3. Sony has to be looking to capitalize on the publics "meh" attitude toward the xbox1 reveal and Nintendo will have to come out swinging as well.
It's also interesting that the media doesn't seem to be too upset about what has been announced so far but major fan sites/forums like GAF and IGN are simmering pots of pissed off fan boys. It seems the gaming press is in Microsofts pocket right now.

I'm more inclined to believe that basement dwelling nerds posting on boards like IGN lean more on the side of "tantrums and hissy fits" when it comes to dealing with what they perceive as problems.

So If I don't play my Xbox One for 3 days, then what will happen with my games?
That has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard of (24 hours internet connection).

The next time you would turn on the system, it would want to connect to the internet to check if you're still legit. Since you probably have your internet running 99% of the time in your place, it will likely happen undetected.

Xbox1 also comes with Microsoft Office installed; allowing you to write an essay via voice recognition and game at the same time

I'd switch to PS4 if they had the same controller Xbox has. Whoever designed Playstations joystick layout should be shot.

I'm sure the Xbox One will have a strong E3 line-up, so a lot of the panic is likely unfound - but it is a bit shocking to see Microsoft effectively turning away from the strategy that they used to get to the position they're in now. We'll see Forza, CoD, Battlefield, Fifa, UFC, Madden and a teaser for Halo I'm sure....and the bro-gamer generation will be happy.
Microsoft gained momentum by putting together the framework of XBLA so that indie developers could get their games in front of a large installed based. Now? They're nearly impossible to work with and are the least developer friendly platform in existence.
Microsoft also gained a huge fanbase by supporting passionate "gamer" projects like Panzer Dragoon Orta, and Jet Set Radio Future - but they've now turned around and effectively said "hey, we're the Call of Duty/Fifa/Madden/Halo box - it's what we do, and it's what gamers want!!!!!".
...Meanwhile, Sony is going to be working even closer with indie developers and game studios at large to ensure that PS4 is THE place to be for great, unique, forward-thinking titles.

As long as you have a proper internet connection when you turn it on again you are probably fine. If say Shaw/Telus/your end has a hiccup then none of your games (disk or digital download) will work until it can authenticate again.
If I understand their mixed and unclarified message so far . . .

I really do not understand the hate the PS controller gets. I like both Xbox and PS3 controllers.... have played hundreds of games on both of them... but have never noticed such a radical difference between the two.

Maybe it's just because I use the Xbox one a heck of a lot more but it's much more comfortable. The PS one almost feels too squished.

The PS controller is better for fighting games, button mashers, and Tony Hawk-style crazy combo constant pushing games, and has a better D-Pad. The XBOX 360/S controller is more comfortable to hold, and has better analog sticks.
Neither beat the Gamecube controller however, which is basically the mecca of controller design. They just needed to scale it up ~20% for larger handed folks, and offer it in both sizes.

I've never quite understood this either. I'm a long time PS guy so I'm used to the controller, but I've played a LOT of 360 games at friends houses and never notice any significant difference. And I have big long lanky hands.
It's also essentially the same controller the PS2 had with a few more features, and nobody complained about it then.

Has there ever been a press conference that gaming fans have enjoyed and not whined like babies about after?
Whenever one happens, it's always whining.

All of a matter of opinion, but I hated the Gamecube controller. The button layout for that thing was horrible. One of the worst controllers in recent memory IMO.

Xbox live and PSN have had license expirations for games that forced them to remove it off their system - you could still play it if you had purchased and downloaded it. I guess in that situation they'd remotely go into the systems and disable them all.
EDIT: Reminds me of the whole thing with Amazon remotely deleting 1984 from people's Kindles. Fun time ahead.
