I'm on my iPhone and so for the sake of my time and sanity won't even address this post. Basically if you don't get that moving Iginla was addition by subtraction, you never will.

Our roster is arguably better. The only good young player on that roster is Karlson.
Had the Senators been out of the playoffs the three previous years before that, as well?

-Alfredson still had a contract and wasn't a UFA
-A lot of that poor season was chalked up to injuries and the Senators were expected to bounce back.

Alfredson didn't rebuild the ship, the Ottawa Senators management, scouts and development did.

Alfredsson missed the last 28 games of the season and had back surgery in that offseason as well.

He wasn't tradeable anyway.

Sounds like Alfie plays a hue part. Can't say the same about Iggy.

Sometimes people forget that these rookies are 19, 20 years old. Leadership is so important for learning the mental aspect and physical aspect. If you want to be the best, you have to learn from the best.

Yeah, and if the Flames had any 18, 19, 20, 21, or 22 year olds over the past 15 years worthy of playing in the NHL they would have, and Iginla would have been their leader.

You don't hear anyone knocking Iginla's leadership.

OP, just admit you're either an Ottawa fan, an Alfredsson fanboy, or an Iginla hater and be done with it. Your arguments are weak, and the fact that you use false facts to try to back up that argument just makes it even weaker.

52 and three quarters actually. Also heard he pioneered right handed hockey and was the leader in moving away from old timey hockey skates.

Erin Nicks ‏@erinnicks 8m Alfie when asked if they can come back. "Probably not. They have too much depth." #Sens

What a great captain!
