I like the idea of picking up either of the top two canadian goalies in Fucale or Comrie. IMO, Comrie looks like he could be a real good goalie due to his blend of technique, aggression and the ego. He is a real good person i'm sure who has humility in many ways but, being raised by the Comrie means is unique perspective. I'm sure he has had to deal with the good and bad of if it and might be suited to a starting goalie in a hockey market like Cgy due to this type of upbringing. Goalies are an odd bunch, but I like the two canucks at the top and think if the flames trade down the pitt pick and get an early second back with another to boot, then we seriously look at one of those guys.
PS, JDLR looks amazing. That kid is gonna go higher than 33 after he interviews. That hit he threw at the end of that clip package was awesome. That looks like Landeskog esque style physicality. If skates as well as people say he could become a top six weapon in not a lot of time. Skating, Size, Grit, Nastiness, Skill both off and def. That could be another fast mover. This sure is a deep draft.

Morin, and maybe it's just me, reminds me a lot of Hal Gill, but with a bit more of an offensive edge and a bit more of a project defensively. I have to admit though, I have very limited viewings of him. Either way, I feel he's something the Flames need to get more of.
If Feaster turns a first into two seconds, I'd be fine if he took Morin (as Mueller would likely be a 1st round pick). A Breen/Morin pairing would be great for shutdown purposes, assuming both become NHL calibre.

I think he's a lot more physical than Hal Gill.

He very well could. Remember my rankings are my personal thoughts on Best Player Available. Others (including NHL scouts) will certainly disagree. Its not like all 30 teams will even feel the same way as it is, and they are the pros who do this full time, and live in the rinks. I'm doing it part time, and mostly off video streamed to my computer (and then TV).

He very well could without a doubt. I suspect a team actually does have him in the 15-25 slot. In that comment, I should have noted that I have a personal preference to defence later in the draft.

I really feel with the picks we currently have if Morin is there for the Pit pick, he should definately be the guy.
I hope that the Stl pick there is someone higher on the list still available.
A 6'7'' Dman, who plays physical, can shoot the puck, and they say skates well enough. It seems like a low risk, high reward type pick. He will play in the NHL which is all you hope for with a pick in the late 20's. But he cuold transform into Chara, which would be huge!

I agree that Morin's going to be a riser, would be really surprised if he's around at the Pitts pick and could even be gone by the Blues pick. When you see a kid with his size, nasty edge to his game, and potential upside take a big step forward in the regular season and then another again in the playoffs, somebody is going to project that he'll keep improving and do it again next season. Looks as good if not better than Tyler Myers did at the same age.

big fan of what I've read about McCoshen. Obviously a bit raw, but he already has the size and it seems he has all the tools to become a successful 2-way-defenseman if he reaches his potential. Wouldn't mind using the PIT pick on him after drafting two forwards with the other two picks ... the Flames seem to like the USHL, so who knows.
