I know the Flames are small, and I hope they are able to draft big AND talented players, but I hope the player they draft isn't a (big) Nemisz 2.0 and pass over a (small) Ennis in Petan.

I wouldn't mind using our third 1st on Petan if we'd take Lindholm/Monahan at 6 and a big defenseman with our second 1st. However, I'd rather see them take another forward with the second 1st and then draft a defenseman with the third 1st.

He sounds interesting. Good size, good scoring touch, too bad about his skating.

I guess at this stage all the picks begin to have one or more deficiencies. Skating may be improved, height not so much.

Does Fucale not have their upside, are the other ranked skaters just better, or are goalies being rated more cautiously now than in the 2000s?

Post lockout (05 edition) we've seen goalies really take a significant drop in terms of where they are drafted. Goalies take time to develop (even the best) and the free agency age being lowered and rules like that have effected the position more than any other in terms of draft.

If a guy is gonna hit UFA at 27, and it takes him til 22 - 24 to become an NHL starter, the value isn't there vs a forward who could be in your lineup younger.

Really really want the Flames to get Klimchuk with that Pens pick.

What would you think if the Flames 3 picks were

Lindholm
Samuel Morin
Mirco Mueller

Two huge D-men and a top line center prospect?

I'd prefer two forwards and one d-man, but I won't complain if it's the other way round.

Lindholm/Monahan
Wennberg/Gauthier/Mantha/Compher/Horvat
Mueller/McCoshen/Bowey

What's the knock on him that has him late first? His size?
