Regarding Nichushkin, I should add that if Tampa does NOT take him I think the next team to take him would be New Jersey at 9. Buffalo is a team that could package up 16 and 8 plus more to Tampa for 3.

Interesting to get his descriptions. Still want Barkov or MacKinnon out of this draft, doubt we'll be able to accomplish trading up but it could be a great move if Feaster pulls it off. At least we get our pick of some pretty great prospects at 6.

i thought ISS had him ranked at #9? Maybe i am getting ISS confused with another agency.

Watching playoff hockey and a big center playing well in all 3 zones is a must.

They did. They had Barkov at 5 and it sound like him they're describing in that tweet.

I would tend to agree, although my viewings of Seth Jones were limited to the finals against the Oil Kings. He just looks too gentle, so he's bang on with the Pronger comparisons being ridiculous.

I'd be scared if we picked him at number 1, but since the Avs are there, he's going 1st for sure. If it were the Panthers or the Lightning ahead of the Avs, it wouldn't surprise me to see Seth Jones go 3rd.

I agree, also. It's very rare that the first defenceman taken in a draft ends up being the best defenceman in the draft (much more rare than the first forward taken being the best forward, which happens regularly).

And even in the rare case that he does -- Erik Johnson as an example -- it's still questionable whether it makes sense to take the player that high. I'm sure if the Blues could do that draft again they would opt for someone like Toews, Staal, Backstrom, Kessel, Giroux, etc.

If Tampa are in the mindset to take Nichushkin 3rd overall it would make a lot of sense for them to drop to #6 & recoup another asset. Quite unlikely that he's taken before #6. Mackinnon, Drouin or Barkov would be a home run pick at #3 for Feaster.

If they really like Nichushkin they would be best served to pick him at #3 as there is no garantee that Preds or Hurricanes will pass him over.

Yeah, if they really think he's the guy, dropping 3 places is risky. I still don't see why they just wouldn't take Drouin though.
