Pretty sure 99% of board battles don't fall under "violently impact the boards".

Likely his last game as coach of the Canucks. Sometimes I wonder if he was trying to get fired, Alain Vigneault did make some puzzling decisions.

Agreed, but you can understand the frustration. I don't think the call is as black and white as the majority of folks here are suggesting. I thought it was soft call and I'd be livid if that happened to my team.

It was, which is why qualified people are reviewing it in slow motion and stating as such.
Explain how you're suppose to do a proper check in that situation then to avoid a boarding call? What foul occur that made it an illegal check? I just don't know what Sedin could've done different to make the check more legal.

no I wouldn't move the Sedins, their 5 on 5 numbers were on par with the art ross seasons just PP numbers dropped and they were asked to play more defensive (ozone start rate went way down)

I would hope to re-sign them when possible at a discount so that going forward they aren't the only legit offensive threat

D is good, they have 6 they can go forward with (Hamhuis, Edler, Bieksa, Garrison, Tanev, Corrado)

good enough that I would move Edler to get a package including a young forward (Couturier type)

to me they need some new blood up front, which hopefully an Edler trade would fill

I imagine AV gets fired, from a talent standpoint I don't like it but I understand his message is probably wearing thin and change for changes sake will help

guessing Luongo is gone for picks, and then 1 piece of the core with Edler being most likely

and the 4th line need's to be completely revamped but that's more so finding guys in FA

Tonight was the first playoff sweep for the Sharks franchise.

So the Canucks have to feel good knowing they made history tonight.

My argument is that when he hit the boards, he was already mostly on the ice. Sedin didn't apply force that drove him into the boards hard. That was physics. Basically if they're going to consistently call boarding like that, then you're not allowed to check players where they may fall towards the boards at all then.

That guy

The Canucks got away with a couple of pretty blatant trips earlier in overtime, they were living on borrowed time.

The penalty call is irrelevant, the Canucks weren't great in this game and had put themselves in a position to lose this way.

You could almost call it a justice call based on the Canucks lack of dicipline.

Good bye AV
This guy? But yes, I agree.

what? not sure who you are citing, but at best, its a 50/50 call.

I'll stick with the opinion of Kerry Fraser, who felt it was the correct call.

Exercise caution and judgement when checking someone a few feet away from the boards, because if they fall awkwardly into the boards you will likely get the 2 mins for boarding.

Don't be a Canuck fan. Stick to your own team's board.

that's why i'm not going to bother - i don't want to sink to their level... just curious as to how long it would take? under 5 minutes??

it is pretty funny to read their comments about how it was the refs & the sharks vs the canucks - ha! ha!

***edit... just 'cuz i'm not going to bother with posting the tp on CDC doesn't mean that someone else couldn't post a pic of it

I would hope he is gone. Its time for a change for sure. I was really hoping to see Schroeder make it into the lineup, because he, Raymond and Hansen had some good chemistry early in the year, but we get Sestito instead. Also how Jason Garrison was not on the 1st PP was beyond me.

CDC? What does the centre for disease control have to do with the Canucks?

I rolled on over to check out the CDC forums. It is seriously the most delusional place in the world. I hope we never become like that.
