Montreal VP of communications.

Eller has facial fractures and dental fractures (whatever that is, broken teeth I presume). In hospital for overnight observation.

Facial fractures but out tomorrow? I presume it's a broken nose.

Kerry Fraser on tsn had a great analysis of the hit and why it was legal. Good to see it broken down to explain the point. I would link it but I'm on my phone

Montreal always exaggerates player injuries.

Alright first post of the night and it's about the hit. I didn't think it was that bad. It happened so dam fast. I think the bleeding was from the impact his head took when he hit the ice. I feel sorry for the guy but I thought the hit was clean. Might get roasted for this but it seems the Hab player made a good play. Or maybe I've been drinking too much.

What a player Erik Karlsson is. I can't believe he was drafted #15 that year.

I guess I feel better about not giving any attention to that rag.

I heard something about a hearing? Obviously, it's a very unfortunate situation for Eller and the Habs, but I simply don't see anything wrong with the hit. I will not be pleased if there is any further discipline, like just about anything else I find it hard to disagree with MacLean on this issue.

Hmm. To me that looks like a case of a big guy hitting a little guy. Nothing particularly dirty about that one in my mind. Hope Eller is ok

I don't think the head was targeted.

Looks to me like he lined him up and it was a case of both guys moving fast and an awkward angle coming in to play.

Seems like the most damage was done when he hit the ice.

Just an unfortunate freak play imo. Not a dirty one.

Clean hit, terrible result. That shouldn't have even been a penalty.

The end result was worse than the hit itself. If Eller got up most fans would just be talking about what a great hit it was.

Unfortunate result, but not dirty IMO.

Not sure why the NHL has called a hearing. The whole panel on TSN called it a clean hit. To me it was more of a suicide pass that put Ellers in bad situation that resulted in his injuries. I would be very surprised if the NHL deems it a hit worthy of a suspension.

I don't think there is any way there is any action taken by the NHL. A good hit with an unfortunate result and nothing more.

Hope Eller bounces back quickly.

Either way, I have to feel bad for Diaz being hounded by the media after the game. He most likely realizes it was a poor decision and would feel like total #### without his face being all over every sports telecast covering the game.

With all due respect, I couldn't disagree more.
