Right now we're 7th, If we lose the last game and these other teams can pickup a win then we mov to 4th. Not happening imo.
Jones, MacKinnon, Drouin, Barkov, Nurse, Monahan and Lindholm. Will take one of them.

We can still not get one of those players if a team with more points wins the lottery and pushes us to 8th.

Possibly, I'd then roll the dice on the Russian.

If we had just lost one more game, Tampa would be one point away from giving us 3rd overall, and their last game is against the Florida Panthers.
Sad.

So a loss in regulation tomorrow gives us an outside chance at fourth and a good shot at fifth. Any point tomorrow and we're sixth or seventh. Guaranteed seventh as a worst case scenario, barring lottery results.

Pfft. Won't happen...
Well very slim chance. One of the top 5 teams will likely win the lottery, just rearranging the order above us.

Assuming we lose tomorrow:
If Carolina picks up at least one point in their remaining one game, we move up a spot (God willing, these sons of bitches will get a point)
If Edmonton gets 2 points in their next 2 games, we move up a spot
If Nashville wins their final game, we move up a spot
So, theoretically, if all goes right, we pick 4th. ie., be prepared to pick 7th.

fyp
But yeah, Carolina, being tied, need only ONE point. Come on Iggy, let them have it...please!
Edmonton just needs 2 points...come on you idiots, show some pride.
Nashville...I'm sure they can pull together and win ONE game against the BLUE JACKETS!
Absolute best case scenario - We win the lottery and get MacKinnon #1 overall.
Ideal realistic scenario - We get #4 overall, and get one of Barkov, Drouin, or MacKinnon, if one of the two Canadian kids fall down.
Most realistic scenario - We get #5 or #6 and pick Lindholm or Monahan.
OOT goes south and Hockey Gods crack a smile - We get stuck at #7.
Hockey Gods kick us down, then point and laugh - A team with more teams wins the lottery and we get pushed to #8.

Please oh please someone take Nichushkin in the top 3. He's that good! And he's not a flight risk. Honest!

MacKinnon 2+2 and Drouin 2+1 tonight. Both with 28 points in 12 games in the playoffs... this hurts.

Package the Flames first pick in the first and the lower pick of either Pittsburgh or St. Louis to get that number one center.

It would also be great if we could swing a deal like butler for Ryan getzlaf. The ducks are looking for a franchise D man right?

Are you out of your freaking mind. This is a deep draft bud. We could get 2 real good prospects possibly 3 with how deep this draft is.

Nashville plays C-Bus who are fighting for their playoff lives.
Oilers play Minny in game 47 who also need points to ensure a playoff birth. Thankfully their last game is against Vancouver and the game couldn't mean anything less to Van, but Edmonton would probably lose a 7 game series to the Hitmen right now.
Carolina plays Pittsburgh who have lost two straight but have nothing to play for. There's an outside shot at a point.

For that to happen we would have to fail to move up a spot, a team behind us would have to win the lottery, and the 7 teams in front of us would have to pick those 7 guys with no surprises thrown in.
Chances are one of those guys is available when the Flames select.
