Oilers suck, there is no question about it.

However I don't believe it is only because of their veteran leadership. Hall and the rest of the funky bunch have to take some of the blame, can't all be on Horcoff and company.

Love the guys just walking into the circle and getting point blank wristers over and over again.

Oilers are useless.

No closer to icing a wining team than they were at the start of the rebuild. Which is astounding, considering the talent they picked up along the way. Just ruined all these players (as a team) by providing them no veteran leadership, pumping their egos then thrusting them into the league prematurely, giving them second rate coaching and making them all feel like it's okay to lose, because they showed no care to be competitive for 3 years.

Whatever Edmonton has done, do the opposite.

And Dubynk has played excellent all year. Hard to imagine how much worse they'd be with just average goaltending.

I expect the 'Hawks to shut down Sharp until next season...for the 2nd time this season, he gets hurt in a comeback game...Emery had to leave too, probably a recurring groin issue, but the 'Hawks never really are forthcoming with injury info...

And as I type this...Sharp comes back to score an ENG...what a recovery!

No he hasn't. He's been average at bet and is not a first string NHL goalie.

Patrick Sharp embarrasses them even further. That was some weak checking.

Speaking of amazing recoveries...Blackhawk Announcer Pat Foley on Yakupov, after Yakupov limped off, but returned for a PP shift: "Nothing like a PP chance to cure Yakupov's hip injury!"

A .921 save percentage and 2.57 GAA on a horrible team is above average to me. Those stats are impressive.

That's the problem with the organization right there:

Problems with the roster? look to the draft

No goaltending? wait for the draft

We need defense: wait for the draft

Draft comes: take another small forward

And yet the media still goes easy on the Oilers, and say they'll be in contention next year. You would think they would be tired of spewing the same crap over and over again, but nope... They'll probably move up one spot or two next season, and then everyone will say there's been significant improvement and keep on riding the bandwagon. It's all just one pathetic cyclical cycle of failure.
