Oh FFS, the marathon is hours long. People throw massive house parties all along the route. People wander out to take a look or have a smoke now and then. You don't rule things out, but you also don't jump to baseless conclusions.

Are people seriously saying that someone not looking at the runners is suspicious? Has anyone ever watched a marathon? You don't just stare at a bunch of people running by. You wander around, talk to your friends, cheer on occasion, get drunk and of course think about how you're totally going to run next year. Not looking at the runners isn't suspicious, it's typical behavior.

I don't know, that bulge looks more like a bundled up laptop cable (or an apple, or a coffee mug) than a six litre pressure cooker. If you had a pressure cooker in a backback like that, it would be more likely to create a large, flat or slightly domed area rather than a sort of pointy bulge like that.

So far the only person that looks sketchy is the guy with the beard cause he seems to be alone and holding his backpack in a way that makes it easy to put down and leave and his backpack looks a lot like the one in the other pic thats torn apart.

The rest of them are just stupid. As stated earlier, I'm not that against profiling (it's wrong and unfair, but it is effective and you can guarantee that law enforcement is doing it too) but it has to be combined with some other piece of suspicious evidence. Those guys are just brown. Give me a break.

Agreed. The skinny guys look like runners to me (though I do notice that the guy in blue isn't wearing the tell-tale small digital watch on his left wrist like 99% of serious runners). The hairy, awkward looking guy looks much more suspicious.

That's playing into the outcomes of what whoever did this wanted. In a time of incivility we owe it to ourselves to strengthen our own civility. That means we trust further in the rule of law, in the principles of justice, in the freedom that we all enjoy. Saying we throw out due process for a bloodlust is exactly what these nuts want.

Someone trying to navigate a crowded area with a backpack. I'll carry mine at my side like that on the subway or in other crowded areas so as to not be smacking everyone I pass with it.

The real evidence will come if someone can find a pic of the bearded dude, or brown dude, without their bags.
Problem I see is the person must have had 2 bags, or there had to be 2 people. I doubt they would make 2 separate trips. A dude with 2 bags would be easier to spot.

It was inevitable...regardless of any real evidence.

Even though I won't be surprised if what is being said/shown about that guy in that picture turns out to be true.....im certainly not going to be one of those who judge and jury him because of a bunch of internet speculation. That being said, there is no doubt that the FBI and all associated law enforcement agencies are looking at this stuff even harder than a bunch of anonymous wanna-be detectives.

It's pretty far from a witchhunt, even on 4chan. The FBI even released photos and information to the public because they want as many eyes as possible on the people in these photos. If it offends you then stop refreshing the thread?
