Um, huh? That's just a picture of a guy on a backboard with a water bottle in his hand.

Trees and mailboxes are actually fairly sturdy. These were probably fragmentation bombs built of a kitchen appliance and filled with ball bearings and nails designed to spread shrapnel over a wide area against soft targets (people ) instead of force to nearby hard objects.
It's not an explosion like in the movies which are rigged to send big objects flying.
Pressure cookers also don't contain enough pressure to cause that much concussive force. A pressure cooker is usually rated to cook only at like 15 PSI (and go a bit higher for safety reasons) while a standard pipe bomb is probably over 1000 PSI.

While I don't believe that was the bomb in that photo I found another photo from that area after every thing was cleared out. It actually looks like most of the blood residue is in the area of that bag. It looks like if the bag in that photo was actually the bomb the greatest impact was in that area. So I dont know, I just thought I would share another angle at a different time.

Similar to the picture I meant to link, which is the last photo in the CNN photo strip.

Those are blurred out bodies. Whether or not that is the bomb, it looks like the bomb would have had to have been within a few feet of there. It would be a pretty big coincidence if that was not the bomb.

That's made the rounds on FB all day and a lot of Bostonians are poo-pooing it as being nothing more than a guy on the roof, trying to get a view, and that everyone goes up on their roofs to view multiple events that happen in Boston.

That bag in the picture looks like it could have been the bomb. It was a small bomb that likely wouldn't have damaged a metal mailbox.

Then why isn't everyone on the roof? Please... That is such a lame explanation its too easy to call every critical question a conspiracy theory. You can never rule anything out for this investigation.

The comment wasn't a criticism of the footage or its value as evidence. Of course there is a possibility the individual(s) on the roof may be involved in the crime, but the term "conspiracy theory" in todays world usually involves implicating legitimate public agencies. Not sure if that was the intention of the poster when he/she used the phrase, but that is how many people will naturally interpret it.
In other words, the footage may or may not point to a suspect, but in no way does it lend credence to this type of conspiracy theory.

Nice one liner. But there is no such thing as coincidence for an investigator either, until it is found to be just that.

Are people surprised that there were spectators on rooftops watching a large sporting event? Is that what I am to understand?

Or that people ran to the roof to see what happened.

Yes, and the bomb squad was doing a practice run of a bomb threat at the same time so it obviously is an inside job.
