I think Jones or Street are going to come up instead of Hanowski.

If any of the 4 players that we received in the Bouwmeester/Iginla trades becomes an NHL player that can contribute over the next three seasons, that's good. Even if they're only 4th liners, a backup goalie, or a 5th/6th D-man.

@cbcDougDirks
#Flames coach Bob Hartley says Alex Tanguay's knee injury doesn't look good. Looks like newly signed Ben Hanowski will be in lineup shortly.

My first thought after seeing Tanguay go down was that he'll likely need surgery. Tough way to end a season.

well when the deals were made there were many snickers "these guys will never play an NHL game" Funny that two of the four will likely play an nhl game this season

I guess forcing them into the line-up in meaningless games technically satisfies the never play a game requirement but if people are going to use that as some sort of feather in their cap that is fairly weak.

Jarome Iginla was never supposed to be more than a second line, maybe fringe first line, player.

Prospects have a knack for surprising.

I am shocked that he will be starting a game here in Calgary, but very pleased.

Sounds like a very solid character guy with some grit, and possibly some scoring depth upside if he develops more. Will be interesting to see him play in the NHL. Good for him!

Really happy we got him signed. Over the bloody moon that we're seeing youth getting a chance to thrive, make mistakes, develop, and more important than all.. satiate the lust for tangible change.

I hope we get the Yale guy locked up soon.

Close your eyes and say my name and I'll take you far away. To a place where you and I can be.. without everyone to say, na na na na na na.. and I'll take you far away.

I believe it's been said Ramage wants to finish the school year so he will be unlikely to sign before the season is finished.

On the upside though, i like the idea of prospects getting a few nhl games in before the end of the season to see the speed of the NHL game.
This is totally illogical. When the Flames accepted Hanowski in the trade they knew they had a few months to sign him so they obviously fully intended to do so all along. If they didn't fully intend to sign him they would have taken some other piece in the trade. Post-trade reactions from anybody are completely irrelevant.

It would be silly to get too excited...I'm glad that we're getting a chance to see him though.
