Well, I've put about 60 hours into the game. At this point im done with it. Overall 60 hours is a pretty good return on a game. Most single player experinces give 10-15

Couple things:

-Once you understand how to make money, the amount of jobs or tax rate or even balance of Industry/commericial/residential is pointless

-If you have a couple of recycling centers and proccessor centers, you can have basically infinite money.

-There is no end game really, besides maybe filling every region in the area and building the works. And the end of a city can easily be achieved within 2 hours, besides density once you know what your doing

-A larger city size doesnt really do anything to address this, simply makes the time it takes to max out longer

Boring game overall
Way too simplistic
No long term playing incentives

If we were talking about a story based game or a shooter game then you could say that 60 hours is a good value.

But with a sandbox game there should always be reasons to keep playing even if you play it less. If you get to the point where you achieve everything and build to the maximum in 60 hours its a bad sandbox game.

Even with the other Sim City games you could always go to next steps and build your city vertically for a long time after you've filled your real estate.

A limited sandbox game with that quick of an endgame is pretty discouraging.

That is a good point

Take something like minecraft, its pretty much infinitely playable

So really dumb question, I am in the process of buying my fiancée a laptop. This is not a gaming laptop at all. I have had a hard time benchmarking the graphics card, probably because it is so terrible, and I can’t find any information on the power supply. Would you guys say the laptop below could handle Sim City?

Thanks!

Someone really needs to make a sandbox game as good and complex as Black and White

We really need a black and white 3

Yes, the Intel 4000 that comes on-die with the i5/i7s is the minimum requirement for SimCity, it just won't run on anything but Low.

I'll second this, my g/f bought a $500 Dell Inspiron a few months ago and it runs SimCity, it actually looks less crappy than I expected.

Not that anyone cares, but the official release date for Mac is June 11th.

I can't wait, because then I can feel like I got to participate in the crushing disappointment too.

Supposedly, update 2.0 will be released next week and will magically fix everything. Skeptical would be an understatement for me.

Tell you what, you can pay me $30 and I'll come over to your house and punch you in the junk repeatedly. Same experience for half the price.

No, no. you have to start with an hour of favors and then break into the junk punching. You know, raise those expectations and the WAM!

Call up Peter Molyneux and tell him to stop making Fable games that are supposedly deep but always turn out to be terribly shallow.

Apparently right now you're allowed to buy the game for $32, then wait until the Mac version is available for download in June.

http://9to5toys.com/2013/04/10/lowes...c-download-32/

Just did it. $32 is a small price to pay for frustration.

Or I could send a good looking TS hooker to his house with a box of roofies, everything looks great and your having a good time for the first 10 minutes, then comes the crying

With or without cheetah mode?

Edit: Also, your not actually gonna punch me in the junk are you, I bet you'll just sit around eating my food, telling me your too busy or that you're feeling "down" and you'll try again later.

This game has issues- no doubt.

But sit back and relax, and forget about the glass box engine and play it like a regular SimCity game.

I find it tons of fun.

I paid for it, now I want to play it, I enjoy it, with some frustration
