My bad. That was a great series.

Of course not... Titanic was clearly the best picture in the year it won...

I think Crosby is a better player too, I'm not arguing that.

One would think however, that it's ok to give credit where it's due.
ie Ovechkin's past "undeserving" accolades and his recent resurgence.

However, I should know better than to try to convince you of anything positive, especially when it comes to arguments in regards to Euro players.

Considering how many he's won and his numbers that coincide with it, I think undeserved is a little bit of a stretch, but hey, feel free.

Is Malkins Conn Smythe underserved too?

Ovy has put himself in the conversation for the Hart this year with this surge of goals and bringing WSH from the basement and now div lead.
Crosby depending how much time he misses in an already short season might effect voters.

No I didn't. I am fairly certain that if you look it up he is still listed as the winner and likely has the awards somewhere in his possession. I did nothing to change that.

I would have given it to Crosby but Malkin played well in the last two rounds so he is a fine winner.

This is the best you got is to keep whining about the fact I didn't agree with the outcome of a subjective award?

Ovechkin has looked pretty good this year. He might still be a top 5 player in the league

MIGHT

If we are to assume Crosby misses the rest of the regular season he will have missed 148 games in his last 6 seasons; meanwhile Ovechkin has only missed 16 games in the same amount of time. Two of those games were when his Grandfather died, and five of those games were due to suspensions.

So in the last 6 seasons Crosby has been out 139 more games than Ovechkin due to injuries.

That there is the reason why I'd expect many GM's would take Ovechkin over Crosby for the rest of their careers. Crosby is the better player no doubt about it, but you just can't overlook his injury problems, then compare them to Ovie's durability. Crosby has almost been out almost 1/3 of his last six seasons!

Now obviously his most recent injury might not be recurring, but he's one bad hit to the head from ending his career. Meanwhile there is no reason to believe that Ovechkin won't play for 15 more years, score 700+ goals, and 1500+ points when he's all said and done.

Just based off that you'd honestly have to truly consider which of the two you'd want to sign to a long term contract going forward.

Oh and whoever says they wouldn't want Ovechkin on their team is an absolute fool. He'd instantly become the most dominant player to ever play for the Flames. And it's not like Ovechkin is any less of a defensive liability than Iginla was the last few years in Calgary. Some people still have something against Russians I guess...

good for #8.

I think it is important for the game for this guy to succeed, as he's an electric player that seem to be fizzling out. Having him fade away and end up in the KHL would have been bad for the NHL and for russian superstar prospects in my opinion.

Go Ovi Go.
