Don't worry bro, I'm not going to hurt you. You going to be ok and on the plus side you sound like you've been immunized so you won't contract polio.

Because of herd immunity. There are the weak, sick, young and elderly who are more susceptible to communicable disease and this is why its important that those who can vaccinate to not only protect themselves and their family but others in our society who are at risk.
Quote:
We live in a free world where we are able to make our own choices in life. A society with forced injections is a society I do not want to live in. It's our own choice to immunize. If you choose not too then the only well being you are risking is your own.
|
Forced immunizations is a whole other topic, but you could not be more wrong in thinking the "only well being you are risking is your own." I addressed this above.
Quote:
How many injections did your dad get when he was a baby? How about your dads dad? How about your great great grand dad? Zero? And you were actually born!!! It's a G D miracle!! You should get 10 injections tomorrow just to celebrate!!!
|
My dads generation had real threats, children were much more likely to die in childhood for a variety of things. I can't imagine you are being serious here so I won't address it further, as you must be aware of the death rates of those generations, childhood disease/death.
Quote:
Can the child come to an age where he can make his own decisions or will it be too late and he will die of small pox or polio? Because that happens all the time in the developed world.
|
Considering the vaccinations are to protect children, this makes no sense. It doesn't happen "all the time" because of vaccinations, if we stop now you are inviting back some horrible diseases that can maim and kill.
Quote:
And oh ya I heard they developed this new medicine that's really awesome. It's called penicillin. I heard its an alternative to not dying of a middle age disease. Just sayin
|
lol so your suggestion is to not prevent disease, but to just deal with it when it happens? and even better, to let that happen to children? Do you have any understanding of the real and very serious threat of the ever increasing anti-biotic resistance happening today because of its over use.
Quote:
Go get some injections tomorrow. Better safe than sorry right? When when the last time you got immunized???
|
As a baby, like the vast majority of my generation and the one before it. Thats why we are healthier and live longer, and cost the taxpayer less than the new anti vaxx children to the health care system cause we prevent disease, not let disease creep back into a modern western world.
Also you might want to tone down your insults and attitude, I'm no mod but if you can't have a reasonable discussion you might be better off logging off and cooling your head.

Modern medicine has nothing to do with humans living longer. It's vaccines. Now I get it. Thanks for enlightening me.

In my many years of posting on various discussion forums I have never encountered anyone who takes postings are serious as you do. If peoples opinions bother you that much you may want to look at something else to do with your spare time. And no i'm not being sarcastic.

LOL, yes one has absolutely nothing to do with the other!
By refusing vaccines you are essentially refusing modern medicine.

Vaccines are part of modern medicine, and yes Vaccines are responsible for saving millions as part of countless advances in medicine.
Are you picking and choosing what medical science you believe in, or? What I mean is do you distrust medical science as a whole, or just vaccines.

Meh, playing devils advocate is fun. I find it funny how serious people get about an injection that they truly have no idea what it is. Sure the government will tell us that it prevents polio but how do we really know what is in it. Would it not be naive to just believe what is told to us without questioning it? Whatever you believe is your own business. Just as what you choose to do is your own business. I could say that eating cheese burgers everyday is a much greater strain on our health system then anything else but at the end of the day you can eat as many cheese burgers as you want. If a person chooses not to get injected its his or her choice. And as far as the child is concerned if you are the legal guardian than its your choice. If you choose to feed your child cheese burgers all day everyday I can't stop you even though it will put a huge toll on the public health system. The right to choose and the right to be free is what makes our society great. If you want to have decisions forced upon you then go live in North Korea. I hear that government is never wrong....

We know because of the scientific method, 80 yrs of research and peer reviewed studies published for the public to see and in fact if you want to see what is in vaccines in your country you can very easily see those on government health websites.

Eating cheeseburgers only affects that individual. Vaccines are a societal issue. Like I said the issue of "forcing vaccinations" is another topic, I think most people are against that, just wish people were better informed and would make the best decision for their children, not listen to Jenny McCarthy and other nutbags who spread disinformation and outright lies in order to turn people against one of the medical science's greatest success stories.

You can dance around the forced injections topic all you want but you clearly believe it. Lets face it a perfect society gets injected by their government no questions asked. Right?

I'm torn by it, ultimately it should be done as the choice of parents, and no I don't clearly believe it. I think we can do a better job responding to the anti vaxx nut jobs and trying to win the PR battle against pseudo science and nonsense that is prevalent on the interwebz.
Well since I've been a member of skeptic societies for over a decade the "no questions asked" certainly does not apply to me, as I always start by being skeptical and working my way from that.
Its interesting you have not replied to the claims I have responded to of yours, do you have nothing to say further on those and are now just wanting to discuss forced injections?
