Filip Forsberg is a bit like Sven, not elite but pretty darn good.

If you're frustrated with the Flames... the Caps and their owner is an even bigger gong show.

This trade is not as lopsidded as people are making out.

Latta and Erat are both solid. Erat is on an absolutely money contract for a player of his skill level too.

Ya his stock as been on a decline since he was originally suppose to be a lottery pick, but every time I have seen him play I have liked what I saw.

Maybe the Caps think they don't need him with Kuznetsov and Wilson in their system.

Erat's a good player, but dang, I wish we could have snagged Forsberg.

NMC aside, they are pretty darn comparable. Very similar dollar figure attatched to them as well

Still not a fan of the trade for Washington but I think teams are really concerned about Forsberg's offensive upside.

That was the reason he dropped to 11 and he didn't do much to overcome those fears this year.

Only has put up 17 points in 43 games in the Swedish second division this year.

Other comparables the year after their draft year:

N.Backstrom: 40 points in 46 games in Swedish First Division.
Patrick Berglund: 48 points in 35 games in Swedish Second Divison
Mikael Backlund: 13 points in 37 games in Swedish Second Divison
M. Zibanejad: 13 points in 26 games in Swedish First Division

Not really lighting it up.

Craig Button and TSN ranked him high this year so all these guys are experts on him...don't go bringing facts into this nobody likes that

I can't think of a single hockey trait Erat and Glencross have in common

Pretty much in every way other than the NTC. I'd argue Glencross is actually worth more than Erat as he makes $2 million/year less and has scored a lot more than Erat has this season. Ya they play different styles, but they are similar in the sense both are top six forwards on pretty good contracts.

Would he have waived to go to Washington? Who knows, but we do know about 25 teams contacted Feaster about him. I think there was a pretty good chance Feaster could have convinced Glencross to go to a few of those teams.

They both can skate on ice while holding hockey sticks.

This might be the best return for a player that requested a trade I've ever seen. Helps that Nashville was able to keep it hush hush.

That was last season.

I'm just wondering, is Erat even worth more then Stempniak. I'm sure we would have all been doing backfilps even if it was Stempniak + Sarich or Butler for Forsberg.

Washington got owned on this trade.

That being said lots of NHL scouts seem to be down on him right now, dropped 6 or 7 spots in the draft. Traded away within one year of being drafted.

So we have all probably missed something here.
