Wow, I love Erat. He is a very underrated 2-way player, but he is getting up there in years. It's likely the end of his peak years right now.
Great deal for Nashville. They moved him at the right time instead of waiting until he was 35.

Erat has never scored more than 57 points in a season and brought back an elite prospect who apparently never get traded. Washington's blueline is so terrible and it isn't one iota better.

I would literally trade any player on our roster for Forsberg (aside from Sven / picks.)

Actually, seeing Erat snag this kind of return will probably anger people more.
But I think this deal isn't as lopsided as it seems. Erat is a good two-way hockey player and the Caps need him more than they need Forsberg
Also worth mention that Erat isn't a rental, his next two years are for very cheap.

Washington plays terrible all year but puts in a final push and they justify trading a great future in Forsberg?
Dear all Feaster haters,
I present to you my candidate for the worst GM in the NHL category.

Latta seems like a decent prospect I guess, probably better than anything that the Flames got for Iginla or Bouwmeester. And yes I realize that doesn't matter a whole lot, but just saying the trade is not as bad as I first thought when it seemed to be a 1 for 1 trade.

Damn, that's one guy I would've loved on this team. Woud've give up Gio or Glencross for him.

Huh, what a remarkably questionable deal from Washington's perspective. I still like them to make the playoffs in that pathetic excuse for a division though.

He has been super consistent though... but at 32 years old, I am not sure if consistency can be counted on in the future.

Washington's looking solid to make the playoffs too. If they win tomorrow and Winnipeg lose, they move into 3rd with the SE division lead.

And a deal like this is why it's crazy for Feaster to say he didn't even listen to offers for Glencross....cause you just never know what the other GM is offering.

57 points in Nashville is like 90 in Tampa.

It was a dig at Nashville's perennially low scoring team...no need to read in to things.

I'm puzzled by this too - but there are a couple of red flags now surrounding Forsberg. Dropping in the draft then dealt away by the team that took him less than a year later, for questionable return.

Forsberg has been a beast in Sweden the last few weeks, helping his 2nd league team beat out two Elite league teams to play in the top tier next year. Played so well some people thought Washington would bring him over to play this season.
Very strange trade I must say. Good for Nashville.
