how did the coilers manage 3 firsts? weren't they dead last 3 years straight?

Ill cheer for the Flames for the rest of the season with no expectations of course. Once the season is over I am cheering Iggy to the cup!

They finished 30th 30th and 29th
The chances of them getting 3 1st overall picks from that was 4.3%
The chances of it happening now, under the new lottery, is 1.2%

We get either MacKinnon or Jones, depending on who the lottery winner takes.
What a horrible thought

I see Drouin becoming Patrick Kane like. Incredibly talented player, however I'd much prefer MacKinnon/Barkov/Jones

Worst case would be trading that pick away.
I see us finishing 29th, dropping one spot after Edm wins the lottery, drafting Jones. (I want MacKinnon or Drouin) ;(

Lose the rest of the games for all I care. I want Seth Jones, and it would be amazing to package Baertschi+ one of our acquired 1st rounders for another top 3 pick but highly unlikely.

98.4% chance Jones is taken 1st overall.

I think it's debatable who is the BPA among the top 3. It's very rare for a defenceman to come storming out the gate, as it's a much harder position to learn. I really hope the Flames don't pick Jones. I want them to go for that potential franchise forward. MacKinnon please.

I also have tried very hard to be the optimistic fan but at this point the best thing for the flames is to finish dead last. We need that first pick overall.

If you get first and don't want Seth, trade down to 2nd
but I think you want Seth

I just wanna say that if we are fortunate enough to get a top three pick, we cannot go wrong with any of the top 3 ranked guys- And if you actually get mad that we pick Jones instead of a forward you're a ######.

Hate cheering for the Flames to lose, but all for cheering for the guys below us to do well, although I am not sure anything short of divine intervention will help the Avs.

How do the playoffs impact on draft order again?
For instance, if the Pens were to finish 5th in the regular season, but then won the Cup, where would they (we) pick in the draft?
What if they bow out in the first round?
