OK, I recognise Bure, Wiemer (??), Iggy and Simpson. Who are the other clowns?

Oh right - those losers with multiple cup rings
Must sting for Iggy - so many former teammates, not to mention his old boss, move on and win it all.

From left to right. Bure, Wiemer, Iginla, Morris, Stillman. Simpson is seated.
Flames are better off right now than they were then.

Pretty numb to it. Have been expecting this for a while if the wins didn't come. Not happy, but not upset. Just don't wanna see us finish 30th (wanna hold that over the Oilfans forever) and don't wanna lose too many more games to the Oil.
Will be cheering for Iggy when I can. Not against Calgary of course, but any other time. I also imagine I'll have more fun cheering for him than the Flames over the next few years too.

Probably more excited to be a Flame fan now than I have been for a couple of years. You could tell the Flames werent' a good team for a few years now and needed a change but they stayed the course and let their assets devalue. Now that there is a change coming, I'm excited to see how things pan out for the team. I'm excited to see some new players and fresh ideas. It's about time this team made some changes and gave people some hope.

The change was inevitable. I just hope they give the kids a chance to make mistakes and keep playing.
I think they should trade off a couple more of their vets for best return possible. Stempniak is a guy that I think would actually be good to keep around. I know he's streaky offensively, but his effort has been great and he's seems like a guy that works really well with the kids. He seems to look out for them on and off ice and might be valuable as a mentoring figure if the Flames have a bunch of rookies and young players in the lineup next season. Plus he could be retained at a very reasonable salary on a short term deal (1-2 years).

intellectual honesty....where did this come from and why does Feaster think he is clever saying it.
The masterful puppetry of Feaster and who controls the strings from above and WHY?? the sudden change of heart.
Did Murray Edwards and Co awaken from a coma and suddenly realize that they hired Feaster, Wisebroad, Goulet and other new scouts? Are they now about allowing them to do their jobs???
I am happy the decision was FINALLY made to do something...anything...but at the expense of the fans and the way this has been handled I know there were better ways of doing it.
The damage done to the Flames reputation cant be undone ...unless they draft well....and have those actual players want to come here and not pull a Tim Erixon.
I know the future cannot be that bad though.
The fact that we have a AHL level coach in Troy Ward doing the job he is doing (some doubt him --I DONT ) already grooming our future prospects for success makes me not feel as anxious as others on here.
I am still kind of all over the place wondering how much more patience will be required AGAIN in waiting for this team to be a contender.
I want to hear Peter Maher utter certain names like Jonathan Drouin and am excited to see what Sven will do.
Time will tell all.......I wonder if i will give it the time as a long time fan of this team.....yeah I likely will.
One thing I will add......If you dont like the moves do the research on these players we are getting in return .....So far I am liking what i see in Cundari

Happy that the franchise is going younger but the returns just hurt these no name kids make it seem like feaster is getting fleeced on every deal he makes so its getting harder and harder to watch these players go knowing there value is gone down the toilet because Feaster cant negotiate unless its at a KFC.

For what it's worth, the previous year's Young Guns promotional materials included Aaron Gavey and Cale Hulse alongside Iggy and Simpson. So that picture wasn't even the worst Young Guns grouping.

I believe in the Pony Power

I'm enthused by the fact the club has finally made the hard decision to do this. The most valuable asset in the entire organization right now is that first - if they finish bottom 4 they will had a franchise players that fans can get excited about.
The extra 1sts in a good draft are also great - and I think a couple of the kids they acquired could surprise.
Little nervous to see what they do with the cap space.
The best thing is a change in approach - because the song they've been singing was getting boring.

I'm nervous, excited and a little sad at the same time.
Nervous because the draft is going to define the future of this franchise for years to come. The Flames haven't had the best drafting track record as we all know well, but because the talent this year is deep, I feel okay going in.
Excited because I want to see young players and what they can bring. I'm also looking forward to the new emergence of leaders. I have an idea in my mind who it'll be, but sometimes people surprise you.
Sad, and only a little bit, because it's tough to say goodbye to players you've grown accustomed to over the past decade. You become attached and sometime it's hard to let go. However, it's time.
As they say, change is hard but it is necessary.

Lifetime Suspension

IF this is a rebuild, Sven and anyone else from the farm (ever) projected to make the big team needs to be called up.
