If the Flames move Kipper and Bouwmeester their cap number next year will be down to $34.7M. CRAZY.

EDIT: That's on currently signed players.

Team needs.

Moore comes in and takes face-offs and kills penalties which is huge for teams in the play-offs. He also usually is a FA so not handcuffing teams for the next season and teams he goes to are play-off teams so pick not that great.

Kiprusoff likely doesn't start for most (any?) team he goes to which makes it hard to give up that much for him.

Yeah, I guess so, but I just think his value is in the crapper right now to the point where I'm not sure if it can get that much worse. I'm not convinced you can't get more than a 3rd for him at the draft. In terms of the rebuild, I don't think it really matters whether we trade him now or in 2 months.

I don't see Kipper being a must-move-now guy anyway... I think he brings value next year if he stays, whether it's just to mentor Ramo or whoever is playing with him. I don't think a rebuild hinges on a 3rd round pick.

Won't disagree that Kipper will probably bounce back. Our D and Forwards play in their own zone is horrible.

The problem of getting anything better than a 2nd is that Kipper probably will only go to 1 team or a team that is going to make him a starter for the rest of the seaon and make the playoffs. I don't think he would sign an extension with the flames. It's the Iggy situation all over again.

Considering our negativity and pessimism ended up looking like overwhelming homer goggles trade expectations when it came to the Iginla trade ... can you blame anyone?

Pessimism is being fed a handful of HGH from our management, it can't help but grow.

He starts for Tampa.

Tampa second team?

Sorry if the deal is a 3rd for kipper I'd rather keep him and let him retire than help TML franchise again, getting so sick of this crap. 2nd and a decent prospect or bust.

And Edmonton's general manger was a certified moron. Hasek got a first rounder at 36 as well, but he was also still legitimately a top goaltenter.

The flip-side is JS Giguere for Toskala and Blake.

That's stupid. This franchise needs all the picks and prospects it can get.

Around here reality is all too often viewed as negativity. The problem with rose colored glasses is....... well, they're rose colored.

There's the world the way we wish it was, the way it should be, and the way it is. If you choose to live in either of the first two you can avoid the immediate pain that often comes with accepting a hard truth, but you will eventually become a bitter person.

Management appears to have chosen to see the world as it is.

Would love to see the 2nd team revealed as Tampa Bay, and then Feaster rips off Yzerman by getting Connolly straight up.

yuck
Sounds like a fair deal to me. At this point we should feel lucky anyone wants Kipper at this point. You can only blame the team in front for so much. Remember the number of playoff teams wanting a goalie is very low.

If Feaster can steal a 1st from someone then he must be a good talker.

That certified moron made all the moves necessary to take his team to game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals. If Roloson isn't injured game 1, hell if Markannen dresses as the backup instead of Conklin, that team beats Carolina.

And that trade gave the certified moron enough power to still be in charge of the organization despite not making the playoffs since that season.
