If Kipper is traded Toronto would most likely send back one of their goalies plus a pick is my guess.

Yup, it's all about the ntc. Everyone and their dog sees why that effected Iginla's true value. Only those still trying to show how right they were are pimping anything but.

really???? !!!
That is like the Devil's going with Hedberg last year instead of Broduer.....
Broduer carried the Devils to the Stanley cup finals.... winning 14 games.....
Hedberg was a better goalie for them during the regular season. He got 34 minute of clean up time in the Devil's playoff run.
Kipper makes the Leaf's have a chance to be this year's LA Kings or at least the NJ Devils.
There is no team that would want to face the Flames in the playoffs for the last 3 years....... because Kipper could easily steal a series.

I think Scrivens would come back with a third rounder or something along those lines.

When Dwayne Roloson was traded to the Edmonton Oilers, he had a 3.00 GAA, a .910 save percentage, and was 36 years old.
Kiprusoff hasn't had a good year. He's been on a garbage team. He's been on garbage teams for three years. He's prevented garbage teams from being lottery teams for two years.
The goals he's letting in are going in because he is mentally fried from being thrown to wolves every night, and playing in an environment where he feels he has to be letter perfect or his godawful team has no hope in hell of winning. If he is given ANY ray of hope, he is going to return to form. Goaltending is a mental game; his reflexes are fine. He's FAR from done.

Kiprusoff is going to bounce back and be a star for a team without the porous defence of the Flames. If all we get is a 2nd or 3rd round pick, we got fleeced. I'm starting to hate reading this site. Pure negativity and pessimism.

Then you are delaying the rebuild process by not getting the assets now and working on developing them. Who's to say the market now won't worsen later, when more goalies are available? Time is now for moving him.

One other question, how the hell does Domenic Moore get a 2nd round pick every deadline but one of the winningest goalies of the last decade barely warrants a 3rd?

Feaster can't possibly win with trading Kipper, no matter what he does. What he does with Bouw, Calamari, Tangs possibly Stempniak and others will make or break future of this team.

Because Dominic Moore doesn't have an .873 save percentage. These teams aren't trading for 2007 Kipper.

Bit of a difference between a .910 sv% and the .873 sv% Kipper has this year...

I think Steinberg said that a good measuring stick of how close a deal is on whether Kipper starts tonight.

Is anyone else wondering if this is posturing by the Leafs to get leverage on a Luongo trade? Seems suspicious how quickly this went to the media.

My guess is the trade goes down as follows:
To Toronto:
Miika Kiprusoff
To Calgary:
Tony Cameranesi (NCAA player, undersized, former 5th rounder, nobody heard of him... checks all boxes)
Andrew MacWilliam (see Tony above, but picked in 7th round, not undersized and from Calgary)
I'm actually half joking.
