Supply/demand. There is zero demand. Kipper would clear through waivers very quickly.

Hmmm... hockey insiders mentioning there has been interest vs. a troll on a message board.
Yea, nice try.
What's ironic is a Canucks fan talking to anyone else about bad goal-tending. Especially tonight. LOL

I really wish I had absolutely nothing better to do than to go on rival team's message boards and pick fights.
Let's see.. things that interest me more....
Sleeping
Staring at a white wall
Playing thumb-war with myself.
They all sound like much better pastimes than 'picking fights on the internet with strangers'.
Really never understood it. I guess my life just isn't that boring and empty. I love the hockey-talk you get from good posters from even the Flames' rivals, and from others from different teams. They can argue, even troll a bit, but at least they are interesting, make valid points, and come here for actual hockey talk, not picking fights. Those guys are always welcome. But guys that just troll and troll... seriously, find something more productive to do with your time. I bet your left thumb can't pin your right thumb 342 times in a row!

There is not a single team in the NHL that would take the worst starting goalie in the entire NHL at a big cap hit, especially when he is refusing to report potentially leaving whoever claimed him on the hook for his cap for another year.
Kipper has zero value.

I swear this is EddyBears just trolling us.

Friedman literally said that the Leafs asked for Kipper but wouldn't pay a 1st round pick. That doesn't mean they still aren't looking at him.

At the beginning of the season, back when Toronto was still actively looking for a starter. Long before Kipper was on pace to have the worst stats for a starting goalie in 20 years, and long before he went public about him refusing to report to any team if traded.
There is a grand total of 1 team that could conceivably want him. Their goalie is playing significantly better than Kipper, and Kipper is refusing to report.
But yeah, it makes sense that he's worth more than a 2nd.

Its already been rumoured that there are multiple teams that would like Kipper.
THere is probably only one team that Kipper would agree to go to as of now and that's Toronto and only if he is given a very hard look at being the #1.
Because Kipper wants to be a starter and the smoke about him maybe retiring, the leafs pretty much have Feaster bent over a barrel in terms of trade value going back.
Best thing for the flames would be to hope he does not want to retire and will accept a trade in the summer to any team that will make him a starter.
I really doubt Kipper will want to play in Calgary next year and get lit up every other game and no chance at playoffs.

Hey, don't misinterpret me. I think Kipper is dealing with some personal problems, and his head isn't in the game right now, and it's showing in his stats.
I believe that if he weren't refusing to report, we could easily get a 2nd + B level prospect for him. But the fact that he's clearly doesn't have his head in the game right now (is playing worse than any starter in 20 years) and is also refusing to report is what takes away his value.
Not because he is an inherently bad goalie. Not even Oilers fans would say he was.

Kipper is a proven playoff performer and doesn't break under pressure like Luongo, Fleury or Bryzgalov to name a few. He's worth the 2nd if not more to a playoff bound team.
I'm just thankful the guy didn't demand a trade years ago, the team in front of him is a farce.

His stats are terrible even assuming the team in front is bad. He simply hasn't been good this year

That is not true at all. Some teams? Yes. Any team? No.
Quite frankly I can't think of a team other than Toronto that could use Kipper right now and I am not so sure he would be an upgrade over Reimer.

Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger 7h More dialogue between Leafs and Flames re: Kiprusoff trade this wknd. Not close, but more discussion will take place in next 3 days.
Hmmmmm. I wonder if they will part with Gardiner as a part of a bigger deal?

Well this was his scheduled poor season coming off a great year last year. Look at his stats going back 6 years. It's undeniable that he follows a great season with a not so great season. Which means if he plays next year he should be pretty good.

Don't get your hopes up. I think we are looking at a 2nd round pick at most.
Kipper can still steal games and be a no. 1 but his statistics are a hard sell. Good scouts will know that he still has game and will on a good team, be a no. 1, but they still have to sell it to the fan base. There is a lot of pressure for and against any team to acquire Kipper.
Kipper will be great for the Leafs, it's a no brainer for me that they go for him instead of Luongo. I think the Luongo smoke is just Nonis trying to drive a hard bargain with Feaster. There's no way, they opt for that albatross of a contract.

Getting a 2nd rounder for Kipper would be perfect since that's what we originally gave up for him a decade ago

I just hope Feaster has learned from previous GM's that trading with Toronto does nothing but set Calgary back.
Has Calgary ever won a trade with them?

I'm actually a bit surprised there isn't more Miller to Toronto talk going on right now.

Agreed with Jiri on Kipper's value. If he was playing well this year it's a different story but he's statistically one of the worst goalies in the league right now. No GM is going to give up alot for that.

I guess we can finally change the title of the thread considering all that has come out.
Honestly, if he can be turned into any asset, it would be a bonus.

Same here, to an extent. But after reading your post, my initial reaction was, would BUF trade Miller to a division rival?
