Leafs slaughtering the Sens 4-0. Kadri with a hat-trick. Awesomeness.

His points/game in the NHL this season is higher than his AHL points/game... odd stuff.

Why can't the Flames, just once, have a young player completely overshoot their projections to become an impact player. Seems like every player Calgary drafts struggles to even meet expectations

I don't want to start an off-topic discussion here, but as I've said often lately, it's because of our poor development system.

6-5 Islanders. Iggy with a hattrick, 2 assists and a fight.

Had he signed one of the earlier offers he would've made a fair bit less cash because they weren't as backloaded and a lot of the contract value would've been lost due to the lockout.

If anything the Canadiens are going to regret not giving him a longer term deal before he really establishes himself.
Sure his contract is a bit deceiving as he'll be making 3.75M next year. But he's only going to grab around a 1M in salary this year for a total of 4.75M. He would have been just as well off as grabbing a 2 year contract worth 3M per, pro-rated with the lockout's 48 games he would have netted over 4.75M. I don't know what the original offers were, but if Meehan wasn't getting close to 3M/yr, he should be fired anyways. Playing hardball and sitting out could easily have tarnished his reputation with the Montreal fanbase and cost him endorsements.

Look at other holdouts like Benn, who earned a 26M contract, and O'Reilly who's signing bonus alone was worth over half of what Subban was going to make. Sure, Subban's going to get a pay raise next contract anyways but he should still have been making more this year.

Man Kadri doing a fine job representing Lebanon. What a stud he is.

Leafs could give any team in the east some trouble in the playoffs.

on one hand the fact that he plays in Toronto means it's a little annoying all the praise Kadri is getting, CBC/TSN especially, it's a little over the top

but he seems like a humble kid, and after what he went through the last few years it's nice to see him doing well
