I'm 100% with you on this constant requirements for irrefutable proof by some on this site, its ridiculous. It's a site for opinion, and educated discussion on a topic in with a lot of opportunity for educated opinions that can be created by what we observe or hear as fans.
That said, in one of your last posts, you said Feaster isn't seen as equal by his peers. Understanding how other GMs perceive our GM is likely one of the hardest things to form an educated opinion on as a fan, because we don't ever see or hear their interactions with each other. What makes you think his peers don't respect him?

He didn't go so far as to insult Jay directly, but if you read between the lines it's pretty clear that he's not happy with Jay's conduct in the matter.
If I were him I wouldn't worry though. I'm sure Feaster will let him fleece the Flames doubly hard at the next opportunity.

Maybe Bostons GM should track down whomever leaked the deal to Aaron Ward and fire his ass. Until the Trade Call is made to the NHL office the deal isn't completed. He also stated that he thought they agreed at NOON but Feaster told him he had to confirm with the player and if he didn't hear back by 5 PM maybe he should have figured there was a possibility it wasn't happening and locked down his own staff to stop leaking crap to the press, so both parties are equally at fault.
As a manager of a business if I find my staff leaking information about deals to clients/competitors they are done that day. The NHL insiders on every network don't have the contacts everyone believes they do, they make up crap all the time and repeat it enough until all the gullible people believe it.

After listening to Bob McCown and Ken King it appears feaster has pulled off another GM trade relations faux pas. The unfortunate thing is now management is blaming Iggy for backing out of Boston.
Its pure speculation on my behalf but judging by feaster's jumpy and unprofessional lack of cpmposure in the past I bet he signed off with Boston well before he should have. Iggy is now having flames management pointing fingers at him for pulling out of Boston. All of this could have been avoided if feaster had a little more patience and experience. I don't trust feaster and I have no faith in his business techniques. Hopefully King will be embarrassed enough to skid feaster and hire someone with a little more composure. feaster may be pushing the popularity of this team as a trading partner and as a destination over a cliff with his un-professionalism.

I think the bolded part is just what you perceive. Most of these guys have been in locker rooms and know people. Are those people the GM's giving them scoups? More than likely not, but probably know trainers and workers beneath the high level stuff.

Yesterday I made a really bum-headed backhanded comment and received a warning because of it. My thoughts have actually changed a bit since then, but not because of the warning.
Anyway, I firmly believe Don Meehan had a lot to do with screwing over the Bruins yesterday. Certainly both Boston and Pittsburgh tried putting the screws to the Flames having that info leaked out that there were only 4 teams on his list. I firmly believe the finger was pointed by Chairelli at Meehan today, and subsequently Iginla, for having a last minute change of heart. Having said that, the 1st rounder which will probably be insignificant, is all we can really hope for out of this deal. If Feaster was a hockey guy part of the old boys club, they probably wouldn't have treated him this way, and that's unfortunate. But he handled the press conference with class and I'll give him credit for that. The way Meehan and Iggy handled it, wasn't right and they should have been up front that Boston shouldn't have been on the list. The Flames looked amateur because of the way the player handled it, and if anything this whole process showed me, if you're not part of the old boys club, you're really going to be taken advantage of.
The ROR offersheet was a debacle and it really pissed me off that the Flames and Feaster made such an error in judgement. Not only that, from top to bottom they lied about it and Feaster was essentially the scapegoat. He was to blame as was the others in the organization who overlooked the details.
Going forward for the rest of the week, I really think he's going to be in the same situation as the Iginla debacle. Kiprusoff and Bouwmeester are going to give a short list as well, and knowing the other GM's, they'll be happy to lowball him just as was done with the Iggy trade. Because of that, I don't know if a firesale will take place as it should happen. While I'd like Feaster to stand his ground and just say no to these vultures, it's probably in the organizations best interest to do a firesale at almost any cost.
Yesterday I was pissed, but now I really feel bad for the guy. It's clear that
a) the no movement clauses are killing their bargaining position
b) ownership has no real direction
c) the old boys club feeds on guys like Feaster
I think that puts him as an underdog and now I'm rooting for the guy to pull off something good. I don't know if you can have someone like Feaster running the team long-term because of "C" above, but I hope he can work something out. Hopefully Bouwmeester and Kiprusoff or anyone else doesn't give a narrow list.

EVER seen? Why can't most of you see that Iggy controlled this trade, not the Flames. We are lucky we got something for him and he didn't just leave at the end of the season as an UFA.
It could have been worse.

Has anyone of his draft picks outside of Sven played in the NHL?
Seems a little early to say his drafting has been good.

This guy is in the front office? I had no idea.
What has he done to warrant dismissal?

What are you talking about? The Leafs were a disaster when he took over and they actually look pretty decent right now. What is it about this board that causes people to lose all objectivity when it comes to the Leafs?

Nonnis really has done nothing so far. He is just using the team Burke put together, including the coach.

When you start to get bothered to the point that it effects you in any real way it's time to take a break. I've been to that point before and after a few months away I was able to come back and the stuff that was driving me crazy wasn't such a big deal anymore.
Hope to see you back soon if you do take a CP break.

Name one roster move that Nonnis has done please. Only thing I can think of is trading Brown to the Oilers. As for the coach, yeah, that was a Burke hire as well.

I have been curious if Feaster gets retained or not. Obviously his 'plan' has failed, since the Flames are near the very basement of the standings. However, I think he sticks around. If he 'bombs' a few trades that will probably be coming up soon, perhaps the organization lets him go. I think he is 'safe' unless he makes moves that don't seem to bring back some decent pieces (either 'ready' prospects, or complete futures).
The Iginla deal is understandable based on the organization showing some goodwill back towards Iginla - the fanbase should be understanding, and MOST fans here would really want to see Iginla win, even if means the return wouldn't be as strong (most fans - as long as the difference in return wasn't enormous, and there will always be exceptions that just couldn't care less if Jarome wins the cup or not).
However, from here on in I think the 'excuses' for having a poor return should be non-existent, with the possible exception of Kipper. Kipper may or may not move, and if he does, I don't anticipate there will be too much coming back. Bouwmeester on the other hand - I expect a more 'fair' trade. Definitely another 1st. Definitely another piece.
Feaster will buy himself some time as long as he doesn't screw up and get ridiculed for the returns.
Hypothetically, if Feaster gets canned, does this mean Weisbrod is axed as well? Does he take over? Do they keep him around and allow the new GM to decide? I think Conroy, the other 2 assistant GMs and the scouting department would all be 'safe' at least until the next GM, but Weisbrod would be directly linked to Feaster's work.

What on earth are you talking about? JFJ left Burke with nothing. Like, even less than the Flames are working with now. And with that he built them into a young playoff team in the span of a few years, with one of the better prospect pools in the NHL.
We would be lucky to have Burke rebuilding for us. He has consistently shown that he can do a lot with very little. Feaster has shown he can take a Stanley Cup winner to drafting Stamkos in the same time span.

Why isn't Burke still running that team?
