Why would Feaster request Bartkowski? Why? I could understand if Chiarelli threw him in as fodder but for Feaster to request him? If I'm another GM and Calgary comes calling I don't even bother offering up players. I'd just wait for Feaster and co to pick the garbage off my team because that's what they do best.

And why a one-way deal?
Odd contract/development if it is true.

It may have been that Feaster was given a choice from a group of similar looking fodder. Making Boston sign the one way, and then backing out of the deal just makes Calgary look even more bush league though. Damn. I really wanted to have confidence in Feaster and Weisbrod for this coming sell off, but they are making it really hard.

How can the Coyotes, who don't even have an owner, put together a much more competent management group than the Flames?
What have we done to deserve this?

This situation would be laughable if it wasn't my favourite team. Just sad, I don't know what else to say.

that's hilarious!
why would Feaster ask for this? Bartkowski was already Bruins property, contract or not. He could have signed with Calgary after the trade

Given what we were trading and what we were getting back, I'm surprised Feaster didn't ask if he could at least keep the pen too.

I still think Feaster should have been skidded for ROR, this kind of stuff cements my opinion even more.

Haha wait, so Bartkowski was only signed to that one way because he was about to be traded here? Haha, we are dicks.
I won't even get into the tragedy that is explicitly requesting Bartkowski as a trade piece of all people. I drank last night and my stomach can't handle that.

Not that I disagree with you, but there are college players who don't want to sign with their teams just as their are junior players.
Blake Wheeler, drafted 5th overall, chose to become a free agent after 4 years in college and signed with Boston.
Bill Sweatt, iirc, had his rights traded from Chicago to Toronto and then signed with Vancouver when he became a free agent.
And Carolina traded Jack Johnson when it became clear he had no interest in signing with them, rather than lose him for nothing the same way.

Bartkowski? On a one-way deal? This seems....well, awful, to put it lightly.
He'll likely head to Providence soon - which should bolster their blueline even further as they look to make a deep playoff run for the first time in four years.
But seriously? Bartkowski?
|
Why would Feaster single him out? It does seem like that contract was signed because the Flames wanted it done. Baffling.

It just gets better. Goes to explain a little why King ran to the media yesterday after wiping the egg of his red face, to keep the fences in tact with the Bruins.
What scares me is that the Flames will find a way to make amends and trade JBo to Boston for a similar package simply to the Iginla one, because they want to make everything right, and utilize the Weisbrod connection etc etc.
I said before, I have far more trust that our (former) captain did us a favor by picking the deal for his departure that wasn't concocted and preferred by our current hockey ops dept.

I think Feaster just finds Bartowski's name amusing:
Do the Bart Man:

If we actually traded for bartowski, and in the rare occassion he scored (once every 2 years), i am sure the Jumbotron would play this video
