Ouch. I can see why Boston would be mad with the trade falling through. Now they are stuck with Bartkowski on a one way deal and the Russian kid probably is in a bit of limbo as well. He might not feel he is part of the Bruins going forward.
Won't be surprised to see Feaster picking up Bartkowski in a deal just to save face.
Might as well start this now: Welcome Bartkowski!!!!

I could still see Boston dealing the two prospects for one of our forwards. Just omit the first round pick. A choice of Cammalleri, Glencross Tanguay would help Boston. Cammy being the more likely candidate.

At least the Flames made the kid semi-rich.

If the flames for some reason are going to keep Feaster on, then most likely he is going to have to make ammends for this blunder. I just don't see how teams are going to want to deal with him when it comes to players with clauses.
My prediction is Cammi and flames eat $2 million for Russian kid and Bartkowksi

Only way Cammalleri could screw up a potential deal is if Boston in one of the teams on his list he will not go to. Few people actually would know his list but I would Imagine Boston wouldn't be a team he would not go to. I do believe his NTC is limited.
EDIT: Capgeek says his NTC is limited.

Cammalleri has a modified NTC. He can provide a list of 7 teams he wouldn't accept a trade to ... at least that was said when the Flames acquired him in the Bourque trade. Don't know if stuff like that goes away once you're traded, but I don't think so.

Some suggested Cammalleri was almost daring the Canadiens to deal him by the Feb. 27 trading deadline, the player having seven clubs in a limited no-trade clause to which he could not be sent without his permission.

I don't care how it was done, I'm just glad the Iggy era is over. It should have happened 3 years ago when we could have gotten the amazingly talented players in return that some of you still think he was worth. As someone else suggested "he's a 16 game rental". He wasn't worth anything more than we got under those circumstances. I hope he doesn't come back. It's time to move on. Hopefully our first round choice will get us Nathan MacKinnon and the Pitt's one will get us Kirby Rychel.

From anything anyone has read his value is lower because of the NTC and the NTC alone. Anyone suggesting the value is low because of the fact Iginla isn't as good as he was seems to be wrong.
If you had 6-7 teams legitimately bidding for Iginla instead of one... wow.

Everyone is welcome to their own opinions. I hope Iggy has a great run with Pitts but if he does it will be more because of all the help he gets rather than what he brings to the table.

The best way to judge this deal is I really hope they targeted these players knowing that they won't be stars, but regular contributing NHL players in a top 9 role. We just haven't inserted any prospects in our lineup that can be regular NHL players. A solid 3rd line is going to be just as valuable to this organization going forward as much as a top tier prospects.
This organization has relied on overpaying for free agents to come fill roles on our team. It's time we rely on our system to get these players.
If these two guys can be solid 3rd liners, at the end of the day if we so our job and use our resources and picks to fill the top 2 lines, then this trade works for us. We need size and grit and speed just as much as skill and goals. Even ken king admitted we are bare.
If we do it right, then comes our time to take someone else's veteran.

Obviously they are and if you don't see things the way I do fair enough... but it's becoming very obvious that the only stumbling block in getting true value was because of that pesky no trade clause. In the end it was an attempt to trade Iginla to one team and one team only. If any sort of bidding war was capable of starting you would have seen true value. Just imagine Iginla not having that no trade clause, you don't think more value would have been gotten for him?
That's obvious at this point I think.

Not sure that was the only problem. I would think that if he was willing to sign a contract with the new team he might have generated more interest.

Not with Pittsburgh he was more valuable as a FA then he would have been with a deal. With their cap next year they can't afford Iginla.

Could see him signing a 1 year bargain basement deal just to be on a contender. That is if the pens fail this year.

Pierre McGuire was just on Team 1040. He said he's seen A LOT of both Hanowski and Agostino and said they're both a long stretch to become meaningful NHLers.
I trust Pierre.
