I can't see Bouwmeester sticking around one second longer than necessary in Calgary. Dude wants the playoffs and who can blame him. I just hope Feaster and his team can get the absolute maximum for him.
I remember getting blasted on here before the season for suggesting Bouwmeester is by far the best defender on the Flames and very underrated league wide. It would be a huge mistake to trade a guy who can control the pace of the game for 30 mins a night. Bouwmeester is a very good #1 all around defender with superstar quantities in his game. The Flames should keep him and add depth in elsewhere.
Rarely does an idea not make sense for either the team, the player or the fan base, kudos to you sir!!

Vicki Hall ‏@vickihallch11s Bouwmeester on talking to Flames about possible trade: "I’ve had conversations, but it’s not anybody else’s bizness.”
This can't be real. He must've mumbled the last part and Vicki just guessed what he said.

If Jay Bouwmeester has been controlling the pace of all of our games for 30 minutes each night thus far, then that's one of the best reasons to trade him that I can think of.

No. He doesn't make his teams or his linemates better. The Flames were doing okay until he came on board.
Trade him and let's start over.

Given how unrealistic that is, you would do well to lower expectations.
For Bouwmeester, we might get either a first rounder or a good prospect, plus a secondary prospect. We won't get all three.
My comments were not specific to that proposal - just a reflection that I don't think Feaster is able to leverage situations well and can't maximize value for assets.
What scares me is we were willing to let our 1st go for RoR, wonder if Pittsburgh or or draft pick is in jeopardy + Jbo to start looking for a marquee potential player??
