Right now all of CP and flames fans better hope that the only players that Feaster and Ken King are allowed to trade before the deadline are the UFA's.
Realy need a new regime to come in and trade the other players under contract.

35 year old pending UFA we got pretty good return too many people using their heart instead of their head, but it's understandable

Since Iginla doesn't want to be a rental player maybe the deal is conditional on Iggy signing, not on a conditional 1st. These reporters are guessing as well and can make mistakes, at least I hope they have otherwise as I've said before I don't trust Feaster to make the trades to revamp this team.

I do wonder about how he transitions to the pro level. Clearly he is undersized, particularly in weight and strength. He doesn’t shy away from the physical game and he seems to have a good work ethic however if he can’t add strength and mass then I really have concerns about him as a pro. Lastly, not a great 2-way player. Not awful in his own end but he is kind of what you would expect when someone says "skilled Russian"...shifty with the puck and likes to score. Doesn’t necessarily love to play in his own end.
That’s really all I’ve got on him - in general, I like him and I can see the upside.
Still wanted to see another prospect of similar caliber coming back in addition to a 1st.

That's at least nice to hear. You can't teach skill the way you can teach defence. Plus the guy's young, so who knows how he'll mature both in terms of ability and attitude.
Looking at our top 6 three years from now I guess we're not doing too badly with Backlund, Koko (I'll learn to spell his name once the trade is confirmed), Baertschi, Jankowski, and Gaudreau. Add a big mean cannonball to the mix and that could turn out pretty good.
Time will tell I suppose.
Patience Flames fans. Patience.

Someone on HF just posted the conditional pick is in 2014. No idea if true.

Joe Nieuwendyk: 568gp 309g 301a 610p
Jarome Iginla: 1219gp 525g 570a 1095p
Combined: 2212 games 1063 goals 1204 assists 2267 points
And that ends with Kokhlachev, Bartkowski and maybe someone we draft in 2014.
Crawl into a hole and die Feaster.

Okay stupid question (also I didn't want to wade through 30 pages). If the 1st rounder is conditional upon re-signing, the draft is before the UFA period. What if Iggy doesn't sign an extension (wants to try UFA for the 1st time in his career). Boston keeps their pick, draft someone, and then Iggy does decide to re-sign with Boston after July 5th. Do we then get their 2014 1st rounder?

I guess I just remember him for the negative things he did in Calgary. Releasing St-Louis for SFA, trading Savard away for Ruslan Zailunan (sp), etc....
