Does no one else see a Linden-esque return just before retirement? Throw me a bone here people.

2 years is plenty of time for a player to decline. Don't get me wrong - Iggy is still a very good player, but he is no longer anywhere near elite.

Hard to see some fans looking at one move and not the whole. Flames weren't going to get the world for Iginla as much as I wanted them to. Fact is this is the first move of many over the next couple seasons and the dynamic is changing one trade at a time.
Flames get another top 15 pick by moving a player and the BOS pick and you're looking at a Barkov/McKinnon with the flames pick and a nichushkin or monohan or ristolainen type with the next. good draft year to do this.

Any chance we can trade Francis to Boston with Iginla... or would that mean we'd have to throw in a 2nd rounder?

You know that we probably wont make playoffs this year right? And Iggy will probably resign in Calgary in July as well. Also we will have 2 new prospects and another first round pick.

You really think once Jarome gets a renewed taste of multiple playoff rounds, he is going to rush back to this mess? He may do one of those contract for a day things but I think it's a long shot he'll be back. I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it

Gotta think the Edmonton first goes ends in Calgary if this thing is true.

Of course it is, the poster clearly said 5 years removed. If I recall he reached 30 goals just last season and the season before was in third(?) for points.
Hardly living 5 years in the past.

Love the person, but he is not the player he was 5 years ago. I'd go as far as saying that he is not an impact player any more than Glencross is. Good luck in Boston, he wasn't going to do much in Cgy any more.
|
Bahahaha. Iginla is 35 and he is twice the player Glencross will ever be. Don't even compare those two. Come on dude, that's just rude. Iggy scores goals with crap players and is better passer today then he ever was. He also fights and will beat the crap out of guys to send a message. Glencross is a whiny player who has scored 24 goals at his best.
Wow.

So BOS ends up with the best player and the best pick? How the heck did they pull that one off?
