The Russian kid is small, soft and a flight risk to the KHL.
He is not a flight risk, he has every intention of being an NHL player. He would be in the KHL now if that were the case. People are just reaching. Yeah, he is not big but he has more talent than any prospect we have had in many a year. Jesus, lynch the poor kid before you even see him play why don't you.

A prospect is exactly that. This kid could be good, he could go bust. But at least its an asset going forward. I think the Flames ownership either didn't think Iginla was coming back or didn't plan on bringing him back and got what they could rather than get nothing. Definitely should be waiting a few days, to me you don't lose much by waiting.

Wtf wouldn't you just wait the four days and see what you can get?
Because teams aren't all going to sit around until the last second waiting to see if they get Iginla or nothing. They'll move onto other deals because they can't afford to end up with zip.
That it's happening now means that Iggy is the first choice for the teams still in it.

Frickin guy looks like a frickin tiny mite out on the ice. God, if the Flames get him, the team is really getting damn small! What the hell is Feaster and management thinking??? Flames do not need more Butler and they don't need any more Comeau's or Cervenka (even though Cervenka is very skilled, he's too small, dammit!).
I really would be very happy with this deal if Bart is left off and we get a second round pick or a different, younger prospect instead. Really like the other two, a 1st is what we expected and Khol looks very interesting with a ton of potential upside.
This deal is essentially the best you can do. Sure you want better than bartowski but its a rental. If the first turns into a top 4 D-man (assuming we don't have the oilers current defensive roster) than its a great trade. Its a deep draft getting the first was the key.
I will say this... from watching them in the OHL I think Koko was a better player at that level than Spooner. Spooner's just had an extra year in the minors to to develop a bit.
He seems to have a bigger upside with Spooner being a better bet to make it albeit maybe as a 3rd line guy.
