If this came from kippers camp I lose a lot of respect for him. He just tanked his value. If he wasnt going to report fine but that is his new teams problem.
He has the right to retire but it shouldnt be public knowledge.

He should retire then and void the remainder of his contract and the money he'd get paid, versus collecting a pay check from the Flames and go through the motions excepting them to continue to pay him even though they can't expect him to honor his contract appropriately.

Did Kypreos confirm this with the same source he confirmed Iginla's list with?
I believe NOTHING that comes out of that dimwits mouth.

Perhaps he has had this season marked as his last for a long time now and Flames brass knows it.
If that's the case and the Flames are trying to trade him then I understand where he is coming from.

I don't see a problem here. If he wants to move he moves on. Maybe he wants to sign an extension. He is definitely better than anything we've had in years. If he was a backup at some point that's fine. It is refreshing to have a guy want to stay here. Even with the sinking ship.

Now we just need Iginla to say the same thing that Kipper said!

The more i think about it, the more i know Kyperos has no clue what he is talking about.
Kipper going into the season knew there was a good chance he would be traded if things went south. Kipper did not get his wife pregnant 2 weeks ago and then had a baby. He has known for the last 9 months this could happen. I don't think Kipper is the kind of guy to go into the season thinking to himself , 'if they trade me , i just won't report'.
Also Kipper is going to be on the road for 60% of April anyway's

I'm not a fan of this. Of course he is one of the best Flames goalies of all time, but he's the one who signed the contract. If he didn't want to leave then he should've negotiated a longer NMC.
Be a man and honour your commitments.

Hopefully he is open to being dealt in the summer or bounces back strong next year

If he didn't want to be traded in what could have been his last season of hockey, then he should have negotiated an NTC for this season. Oh the risks you take to get paid $5M plus a year, I feel really bad for him.

lol because you want us to act like the Islanders to one of our best players ever because you're butthurt over maybe a second round pick. This season is irrelevant anyway, let him ride off into the sunset.

Kipper may actually think this, but how do these experts based in Toronto seem to know so much more about the Flames than the media in Calgary?

Because our media is brutal.

And the flames would be off the hook for $5.8m in cap space next year.

Say what you want but it hurts the team, if true, and certainly explains the apparent desire for a goalie to be involved in the speculated Iginla proposals.

Then we will be set with the 12th overall pick and no assets going forward!
With any luck Feaster says we will pass on our draft picks this year as well!

Not that I even trust this whole Kipper thing is true since it's from Kypreos. But lets say there's some truth to it.
Perhaps he just went to the Flames and told them he'll be retiring next year. If the Flames decide to trade him, then rather than go to that team, he'll just retire early. I still don't really see the problem in him doing that.

Seems easy enough for Kipper to say this is false and I am fine being dealt if the team chooses to do so.
No reason not to deny it if it is false.

I'm not butthurt, but apparently Kipper is. Poor guy doesn't want to put up with a part of his job that has earned him millions. No time for it, and for the record, Kippers treating us like the Islanders right now, not the other way around.
Again, if reports are true.
