Here you go Feaster, I will do you're job.
Pittsburgh: 1st, Bennett, one of Agostino, Harrington, Bortuzzo
LA: Bernier, Toffoli
Chicago: 1st, Saad, one of Pirri, Olsen, McNeil, Dannault
Boston: 1st, Spooner, one of Khoklachev, 2nd, Knight

I have the same worry about Feaster but to be fair, I think it was reported that LA wanted Loktionov out east.
I haven't been a fan of Feaster at all, and i'm still not, but with regards to the Iginla Sweepstakes, I think the Flames have played this well. It's clearly the topic of discussion in the NHL and there are clearly a number of suitors. The only question now is whether the Flames will have the proper read on the assets being offered, and that falls on Weisbrod and the scouting staff.

Entirely plausible. "Yeah you know what? We weren't going to give Jarome away and nobody stepped up to the plate with anything good enough for us to bite on"
"That being said we would like to announce we have re-signed Iginla to a seven year deal worth 6 million a year, we feel Jarome deserves to stay a Flame and retire a Flame"

I don't believe Feasters asking price is high in the slightest. I do believe that Boston org is using whatever tricks they can pull to convince Feaster his demands are too high. He probably doesn't have much respect league wide. Chia wants to fleece us

Watch Feaster package Sarich in the deal to the Pens/Bruins. And since the Pens/Bruins are taking our "salary dump", Feaster throws in our 2nd rounder (in 2014) as well.

So you're saying he's worth less than Kaberle was?
Kaberle returned a 1st rounder, former 1st rounder (Joe Colburne) and a 2nd.
Some people here obviously haven't followed previous trade deadlines very closely. In what crazy world is Jarome Iginla worth less than Tomas Kaberle?
Iginla is worth more than Kaberle. And not just slightly more. So the asking price of a 1st and two good prospects is not at all out of line with historical deals.

Not if you combine them into the sole, more general, belief that he's probably gotta screw this up.

Why? Those prices are not insane.
Morrow went for a 1st round prospect and a pick. The prospects I am naming are not really blue chips.

Sorry, I was attempting some humour with all this talk of the price of Iginla being too high.
Although I can't see Chicago giving up Saad.

The Flames are risking the Bruins or whomever to go or Clowe instead of Iggy but I think they are right to hold out for the best return. The deadline is over a week away and teams will get antsy and I think even if it goes until the last day the Flames will get a nice return. I just hope there is not another week of this

It's only too high if no one pays it. A couple more months of Iginla is worth nothing to us though, so we definitely require more than one suitor to have any leverage. Otherwise we have to take what is on the table, whatever it is.

Someone one said it best yesterday I think.
Calgary, and especially CP needs closure on this. All this hand wringing and fantasizing how Feaster can screw up this trade deadline is getting extremely nauseating.
I am glad he is taking his time with this, and I am glad he hasn't taken the first offer to come along. Very much like the lock out, I think this will go down to the wire, when both sides feel the pressure.
After resigning myself to the fact that Calgary will suck for the next few years, I am just going to enjoy the drama. It's all there is left.

Well its reassuring that speculation has the Flames looking for a 1st Rounder, and a couple of prospects and NOT three 20 goal scorers.
We dont need another Dion Phaneuf Trade on our hands.
We have enough 20 goal scorers.

lol...
bruins fans/writers need to smarten up a little bit. For a team that is supposed to be a contender, they are 9th in goals per game in their conference. Go right ahead and forget about the flames and the high price tag and go get a checker like Ryan Clowe who has 0 Goals this season to fix the goal scoring issues the bruins have. Sheer genius
I am thoroughly enjoying this. Iginla will be traded, and will garner a 1st, a top prospect or 2 and maybe even a roster player.
The bruins are a team that overpaid for frigin kaberle, and won the cup. They could be smarter this time round if they choose to, but they are a worse team this year, and there is a better rental available in their grasp.
pressure's on bruins, pressure's on.

I just hope that when BOS,PIT,CHI offers their first and and a top prospect plus. Feaster doesn't walk away from it hoping for a better deal.
The LA pieces for me is i don't like only because there would be no draft pick. LA has no first and it makes little sense unless the Flames plan on moving Kipper at trade deadline too.

Could'nt agree more, the Bruins actually need Iginla, Clowe or any other available player just do not fit.
They could completely utilize a Jarome+Glencross trade.

What is funny is there were a lot of critics regarding how many contracts Calgary is sitting at took a lot of flexibility away from what Feaster can do. On the other hand, it prevents exactly what you just described.

the fact that LA has to sweeten their bid with something else, since they don't have a first rounder may actually be a better option. The first pick others are offering is likely a 25-30th pick any how.
