This is just short sighted terrible logic.
What's untouchable for one team (that is in dire need of prospects) is not the same for another that may be full of current top tier players and loading up for a cup run.
It's not rocket appliances.

I think flames you sit out iggy. If the decision is made to move him he should be isolated until thedeal is done. Bad for hockey, but sound asset management.
Chicago takes a pass. That leaves LA and BOS.

If our franchise could catch a sniff of the success attached to Mr. Baggins and company, I would have a sports boner.

Nothing special in Gaudreau?
He's won every award possible so far at his young age. Rookie of the year, NCAA championship, World Junior gold medal and first team all-star. Nominated for the Hobey Baker this year.
Why the hell do people want to trade him? Were rebuilding so thats why our good prospects are basically untouchable (although I don't like that word because everything can be had for a certain price obviously).
Lets keep some of our home-grown picks for once rather than trading them away. You know, the whole building through the draft thing that everyone wants the flames to do...sheeesh.

2. (4) John Gaudreau, LW, 8.0D
Drafted 4th round, 104th overall, 2011
If it were not for his small stature, Gaudreau would be considered amongst the elite NHL prospects. He is a clutch goal scorer that plays like a greased watermelon, the opposition thinks they have him but he just slips out of their grasp. The talented winger just keeps proving everyone wrong. As a freshman with Boston College, it was thought he would be too small to play against older players in the NCAA after been the leading scorer in the USHL. He played on a high powered team last season, but some expected a sophomore slump with the loss of some talented players from last year's team. This year, the highly skilled forward leads the NCAA with 1.47 points per game, is among the national leaders with six game-winning goals, and is tied for fifth in the scoring race.
Gaudreau also proved that he can play against the elite players of his age group at the 2013 World Junior Championships. He was named to the WJC all-star team with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (EDM) and Filip Forsberg (WAS) as the forwards. In the last three years, the electrifying winger has been a top scorer at each level he has played at and won a UHSL title, an NCAA National Championship, and a WJC gold medal. Sure, he needs to become much stockier and stronger over the next two years of development at the NCAA level to play in the NHL but Gaudreau's a proven winner that shows up big time for the important games.

If anything you want him playing and want him scoring and playing well to increase his value. Sitting him might actually net a worse deal for him.

I often thought how awesome Buck Martinez would be as the Blue Jays Manager because he seemed like he "got it", and then one day he was given the job....didnt pan out so well.
In my opinion Mike Rogers definitely gets it but past precedence would prove that this does not always translate into success when given the opportunity.

On the pre-game show, Shannon quoted Meehan as saying that Jarome hasn't provided a list to the Flames, nor have the Flames given Jarome options.

Meehan didn't confirm nor deny that Jarome was being shopped, but it sounds like that list didn't come from him, Iginla, or the Flames.

You would likely lose that bet.
However John Gaudreau is a blue chip prospect and in my opinion a very important part of the Calgary Flames going forward.

Let me guess, you didn't cheer for any of his 500+ goals in a Flames uniform?
Some of you guys are really going to regret bashing the best player this team has ever seen. We may not see the likes of him again for decades.

Seems like rmillions and Francis were hinting at the fact that there are more teams in play than the short list rumoured.
This is good.
