That would be correct; the Flames have never had two first round picks, and of course have never picked in the top 5. Let's see what happens this year when both events likely will happen.
As disappointing as it will be for some to see Iginla go, just wait until draft day for the excitement to hopefully come back when we have a few nice picks in a pretty deep draft.

We should make a list of all CPers that are happy to see him go, and then see how many are still around when Flames are sucking it up like the Oilers and the Islanders
That would be a marked improvement this year, so I imagine the bandwagon would be filling up if that was the case.
Yup, that's not how Jarome rolls. I'd be stunned if he didn't sign with his new team, might even happen on the day he is traded. Hell, if he agrees to sign a multi-year deal as a part of the deal, suddenly Morrow doesn't look so untouchable.

Erm...I'm sad to see Iggy go as well but with him on the roster we are just as bad as those teams are. For the franchise it's best for Jarome to move on even though it will be tough on most of our fans.
I think Pitts would be really interested. The chemistry of Crosby and Iginla seems so tempting just in that it has already won the second biggest prize in hockey. Iginla plays great in big games with good skill players too. He's just a great match for Crosby.
I'd really like to see him win with Sutter in LA or go to Chicago for a run or cup too, but Pittsburgh excites me the most.

Can the Bruins afford to have the Pens get Iggy? They've already lost to them the last 5 times they've played. I would say the Bruins have the most to lose by not getting him, as they are in tough to get past the Penguins even if Iggy goes to one of the west teams.

Might be a good time to trade Kipper and pull off another first to a team who really needs him.
And here is the piece translated (thanks Google translate!)

Jarome Iginla file will grow in the coming days and according to the latest information, the Flames captain has submitted a list of teams he would agree to be traded.
The Bruins, Penguins, Kings and Blackhawks are courses listed by Iginla.
Flames obviously do not want to let go for a song and Iginla them seeking an established player in return and a draft pick of the first round.
This folder is for emotional and Flames Jarome Iginla, but for the sake of the future of the organization, a change seems necessary to allow Flames recover.

If you can get a 1st for Kipper at this stage of his career, you grab it and run. I'm not saying he doesn't have good years ahead of him, he'll likely play until he's 40, but he's playing on a very bad team right now, so his (and any other goalie that's tried) stats are pretty mediocre right now.
You don't typically get 1st round picks back for guys not currently playing at a high level.
Newsflash the Flames are worse than the Oilers/Islanders already...this could be the greatest deadline ever if the Flames play their cards right. There are next to no sellers and the Flames have the best guy available. Honestly some of you would rather watch Iginla suck on the Flames for a few more years and then retire? Lets get prospects, picks, top 5 draft pick this year, and have tons of money to bring in new blood. We don't have to suck for years!

I bet the real challenge in negotiation is not finding suitors, it is finding the best contract without being bogged down by conditional picks - conditional upon Jarome signing wherever he goes.
