Lose respect? I would happily undergo years of painful shock therapy to purge Iginla from my mind.

Since when is losing the greatest player in the history of this franchise good news? I'm not saying this thread is wrong (it isn't) but losing Iginla is a depressing manner for a lot of our fans.

Canucks won't get a sniff at the final again for quite a few years.

I didn't know it, was merely re-tweeting the source.

I don't know why RDS would get wind of this first, but it seems like a reliable enough source to upgrade this to "legitimate rumor" status, if not quite fact.

On another front, I've heard whispers for the last 7-10 days that Iginla has indeed waived his NTC. Those were third and fourth hand info though so I didn't share them, but they line-up with this "news" today.

Those 4 teams have been the rumour for weeks now, or so it seems.

That list is waaaaay too convenient for bloggers and other people who want to generate traffic by making up trade rumours.

This is truly upsetting news...feels worse than time Fleury was traded. Iginla didn't fail the Flames, Flames failed him.

Having Iginla go to LA and win a cup with Darryl would be pretty amazing.

If the 4 team list is accurate, and he is indeed traded, my preference in order would be:

1. Boston
2. Los Angeles
3. Pittsburgh
4. Chicago

Best return trumps the order of course.

Out of that list, who actually needs Iginla the most?

The media wants an exciting deadline and their speculation will be made to look a lot more factual than it actually is.

Great choices Iggy, all legit cup contenders. All teams that I have no problem rooting for. Now who would you want from each team, within the realm of possibility.

Boston: Spooner or Khokhlachev + 1st. I don't want Subban and given Feaster's love affair with the USHL lately it could be Ferlin.

Pittsburgh: Pouliot's probably a pipe dream, but maybe Iggy + 3rd for Pouliot. Pitt is deep in terms of defines prospect depth, so it'll probably be Morrow or Maata.

LA: Toffoli, but we'd probably have to throw in a mid-late pick. Otherwise, Forbort or Pearson. I know Bernier was rumoured, but I can't see that happening.

Chicago: Last year I might've said Saad, not happening this year. Teravainen or McNeill + draft pick.

I do not want him to go to Chicago. I have a hard time cheering for that team, actually I won't, regardless. Their goal song grates on my nerves so much ever since they beat the Flames out of the playoffs the last time they made it in so, so very long ago. The other 3 I'm OK with this year. If Iginla is a King next year I'm sure I will hate them then.

Boston
Pitts
LA
Chicago

This gives me the feeling you get before breaking up with a girl you really like, but know it is for the best for both of you.

The Flames have no further games against LA. They do have two more against Chicago, including the last game of the season in Chicago...

I am hoping for a good return from LA.
