I don't even know how much people should make of Calgary playing decently; LA shut it down after the first - that's how the hot stove guys on 960 saw it, so really, i think people need to take it with a grain of salt and focus on the only thing that counts: points.

6-5 DET in regulation

Backlund 5G (I swipe and winnn, b###!)
Brodie 5A

And Baertschi sets an AHL record with 7 goals against Oklahoma City Barons.

I was impressed with the effort tonight, though the result was the same.

Backlund and Brodie were the best Flames I thought. Giordano also had a really good game. Wdieman and Stajan too. Jackman probably had his best game of the season.

2 games below 500. Halfway point. Time for some decisions to be made.

This organization just cannot take a LW over the 2 other centres and the defenceman that make up the top 4 in the draft.

If we're picking 3 or 4, I have no problem... but 1 or 2 has to be Nate or Jones.

Drouin is better then mackinnon. We have to take the best player.

Centers centers centers. Flames only have two. Whats missing here that makes Drouin a better fit for the Flames? I get that he is uber skilled and will likely be a great prospect. Flames cannot afford to miss out on a chance to get a franchise center.

MacKinnon, Barkov, Nichushkin......Those are the three names the Flames need to scout.

No more weaklings. Sick of this Oilersesque shrimp team makeup already. We don't need our versions of Hopkins and Yak getting made to look like goofs all over the ice. Size, skill, IQ, defensive responsibility, scoring against men right now in the Finnish league, Barkov.

I think the Wings are slowly getting back to decent. It will be another tough game. Hopefully they will have reflected on themselves and come out strong at home.

Just because he's a better junior player doesn't mean he's the better prospect.

MacKinnon is an amazing skater and 2 inches taller than Drouin. Both will be great players, but Nate will be the better pro.

That is debatable. And as long as it is debatable I take Mackinnon every single time.

Since the 3 point system came in, isn't the new .500 something like .533?

How many games below that are the Flames now?

Hall vs Seguin all over again.

Edmonton picked the wrong guy, hope Calgary wouldn't make the same mistake.

Take MacKinnon. Of course in a perfect world, find a way to get both.

Nobody is going to suck more than Florida this season, so I expect a pick no higher than 2.

All I want now is for the Jackets to beat the Canucks tomorrow.

Canucks- 9th will make this season a little less painful
Oilers- 10th
Flames- 15th and dead last

Kopitar, but meaner and a better skater

Getzlaf with wheels

Drouin is a fantastic hockey player. But MacKinnon is made for the NHL. He is as close to a certain franchise C as you're going to get (exxluding generational talents like Crosby)
