Lots of teams have benifited from a bad year that results in receiving a top rated draft pick to hopefully turn the franchise around, and maybe it's Edmonton's turn to do just that.

Green text ruins jokes, imo. I actually think less of posters who either
a) use green text, or
b) put a note in a sarcastic/dry humour post saying "Do I need to use green text?"

Yup. The reader has to take responsibility for using their own brain and figuring it out all by themselves

I wonder if the Eberle hype machine will take a hit now that his percentages have normalized a bit and he's scoring at a 20 goal and 58 point pace?

They refuse to trade any of their top guys for a decent supporting cast that plays like they're going for broke. They are so focused on top-end skill (and they do have it), but it's not meshing nor working out at all for them. At least right now.
They are the epitome of a one-dimensional team that doesn't have the right supporting cast to be effective.

Lots of LOLZ tonight. Nashville is last in the NHL for "goals for" and they embarrass the Oilers 6-0.

I am starting to wonder if they will still be picking 1st overall when Taylor Hall retires.

Had an idea!

At this point you really have to ask yourself if Hall, RNH, Shultz and Eberle are 'great' players like they are supposed to be, or just slightly above average players that think they can win with their dangles and fancy moves alone.
Every 'great' player in the NHL has the work ethic and relentless attitude to go along with their top end skill.
RNH and company might have skill and all, but so does Robbie Shremp. It is the other part in their game that is lacking, and I honestly don't see that changing at all with a better 'supporting' cast.
On top of that, despite everything FDW wants to say, the fact is that RNH wasn't ready for the NHL, and it is is PAINFULLY obvious. Plus, they blew their ELCs, because they thought that skill alone was enough to make it in the NHL.
Which goes to management I suppose.
Just don't think their 'top-end' players are really that good.

The organization has been content to be terrible for so long they are incapable of being anything else.

Count me as someone who is surprised that the oilers are behind the flames.
I hope everyone whoever calls for the flames to blow it up, takes a look up north first

I wonder what happens first....
Oilers make the playoffs or Hall asks for a trade?
