How much longer do you think the Oilers will be this bad for?
This terrible stretch of hockey that they have put together realistically can't last forever. When do you guys see them finally turning the corner? I personally don't think anything will change until their management is canned. The media made it seem like they did so much hard work to draft these "superstars" when realistically they where all the highest ranked players in their draft class (with the exception on Eberle). And everyone was raving about J. Schultz before he even hit the NHL so obviously the Oilers were going to pursue him seeing their weaknesses on the blue-line. When do you finally see this team improving?

My dream situation: They suck for a good 2 years or so and none of their draft picks want to re-sign and they continue to suck until eternity.

As long as Kevin Lowe is involved in that organization, this will be the norm.

They'll be terrible until they get new management. Prime example, Curtis Glencross's 8 goals would be tied for team lead on the Oilers and they let him walk for nothing. Brodziak was traded for nothing as well.

It's pretty funny, from games 16 or so on (maybe even 14, I don't remember) they have had an identical record to Calgary. Now we are ahead, and here's to hoping we never turn back! Looks like 99% of the TV 'experts' are wrong so far!

They need to realize that they can't do what the Penguins did. RNH and Hall are not the Sidney Crosby and Malkin of this decade. And Dubnyk is surely not the Fleury that they need. They need to draft defenseman, two of them. Once they have a solid blue-line and some actual leadership they might get somewhere. Until then, I look forward to the battle of Alberta for x years to come.

That franchise is so far from being a contender, that they need to do something drastic. If I was them, I'd seriously consider tanking in hopes of a landing the number one overall draft pick.
Lots of teams have benifited from a bad year that results in receiving a top rated draft pick to hopefully turn the franchise around, and maybe it's Edmonton's turn to do just that.

On Feb 1st, the Oilers were 4-2-1 and the Flames were 1-3-1
Since then, the Oilers have gone 4-9-4 and the Flames are 8-5-3

They've also blown the ELC's of two of their "core" players. They're so keen to bring up the Hawks as well, but the Hawks won with Toews, Kane and Keith all on cheap deals. Also, none of their players is a Toews either.
