LOL, you just aren't making the connection or reading clearly, are you?
First of all, I brought Backlund up on post #514 (not two posts ago), and secondly, my argument clearly revolves around replacing Cervenka with Backlund, and with Jones coming back to the fourth line. But please -skip reading my posts with your blinders on and paint it whichever way you want! Colouring is fun!

LOLOLOLOL . . . . Illogical? How? Because I think Jones is more of a heart and soul player than Cervenka?
Alright, please explain to me how Cervenka is more of a heart and soul player. Is it because he has more goals? Is it because he's Czech? Is it because having Hudler on his team makes him all warm and fuzzy on his inside? Is it because he's a religious man (or not?) Is it because his girlfriend made him omlettes in the morning?
You ask me to first define heart and soul because you don't know what that means (I do), then you can't back up your supposed facts about diving and just have to "trust you on this", then you twist everything I say to make it seem like I'm replacing Cervenka with Jones as our 2nd line center, then you can't even explain heart/soul yourself (or refuse to) and light off the fireworks about being illogical.
Since I know you need to get the last word in edgewise love to do drive-bys with facts you can't support, I await your response.

You made the claim, therefore the onus is on you to prove it... not me whatsoever. You're a smart guy, you should know that.
I take it you don't actually know the stats, since you keep deflecting away from the question with blocks of texts that include no numbers.
Make the claim and then be preparted to prove it when called out on it, or don't say anything at all.

Blair Jones is dead to me. Time to move on. Team is better since he left, therefore poor start was all his fault.

While I liked the guy, seemed smarter than Comeau by a whole human brain, I'm gonna move on too with Kim Jong Un here.

Neither of Jones/Cervenka are heart and soul players.
Cervenka = skill/scoring ability
Jones = no skill/hands of stone
That's why one plays with Hudler and Iginla while the other is pointless in the AHL.
Not sure why anyone would care about Jones getting bumped when Horak/Street are much better players.
Blair freakin' Jones? Who cares.

I did like his draw percentage before he was sent down (59%?). I guess I just see hustle in him where others may not.
There are a plethora of better 4th line players than him in this league that I'd rather have, I will admit that.

I like having Cervenka in the team, he has the skills. But I must say the fact that he didn't even try to take some english lessons before coming over here to play seems lazy. He signed pretty early and must have had some time over although he was playing in the KHL. As you might notice, english is my second language as well but it isn't that hard all it takes is some effort so i do question his "heart" when it comes to playing for the flames

He did take english lessons before he came over here. If you've ever tried to learn a new language, it's very difficult to do.
Right now I'm trying to learn French. I find reading it in French and converting it to English is the easiest. Listening, and trying to translate it into your native language is the by far the hardest part of learning a new language.
So when the guys on the bench are talking to him, I feel for him. It's very difficult to understand. I think he's doing very well considering.

You're really starting to get childish now. "LOLOLOLOL "
Really?
My point was that you brought up Backlund after mentioning that you'd take Jones over Cervenka. You did this to save face because you realized what a silly compairison that was.
Because Baclund coming back into the lineup is going to give us better depth with Cervenka still here and likely still playing with Iggy and Hudler.
Cervenka isn't going anywhere when Backlund comes back, so if you still suggest he needs to "be gone" and that Jones needs to be back, you're still suggesting you'd take Jones in the lineup over Cervenka... which is still asinine.
I don't think either one of them is a heart and soul player, but that doesn't mean I'd waive our best rookie this season like you would (which shows a complete lack of logic).
I said it before and I'll say it again, you have a very strange idea of what a heart and soul player is if Blair Jones is your example. A guy who doesn't have the skill to stick in the NHL, was demoted for attitude problems, and dives. Not to mention the gems brought up by gargamel about his lack of hitting, blocking shots and fighting.
Heart and Soul is a subjective term (look up the word subjective, it will help you out)... but your take on it is completely skewed. But again, you'd be better served watching AHL hockey as that's what all of your likes seem geared towards.

How about no? I'll say what I want, and if you don't like it with drive by comments that add nothing to the discussion, I'll point that out as well.
Jones has played a limited number of games here and have dove several times. I've seen this with my own eyes and it's been widely discussed on this board.
If you don't like the fact I've brought it up without being able to point to statistics that don't exist to back it up, that's too bad. It doesn't change the fact it's happened.
I suggest you start watching some of the games as to be able to keep up with the discussion about them, or simply ignore the subjects that are over your head and not concern yourself.

You must have missed the part where cod mentioned that english was his second language.

Just a guess on my part but if Jones was willing to fight, he'd still be with the Flames. He's a player like Nystrom, borderline NHL talent who was back and forth with the big team until he started dropping the gloves a few times.

I agree. Although I have to think that the coaches were playing musical chairs to see who can come in immediately and "click". We went through Jones/Horak/Aliu/Byron/Street in what seems like within two weeks (I know Byron got injured as well).

LOL... next time, instead of talking about drive-bys and whatever venom you seem to strangely spew, just back up your damn stats with some proof. If you can't, it makes your argument look weak. It's really as simple as that.

Street was 56% in the faceoff circle over two games... small sample size I know, but that's still pretty good.

I'm not really interested in how you think my argument looks, because mentioning that Blair Jones dives really had nothing to do with it as a whole.
Last time: I don't need a statistic to back up something so simple that's been discussed at length on this board. This isn't court. It's a discussion board where (presumably) those taking part in the discussion have actually watched the Flames play.
Those who have, have seen Jones dive several times in his limited time here.
I'm going to ask you again (and fully expect you to avoid the question once again) are you saying he hasn't dove in his time here?
Either you answer yes and show you don't watch the games / pay attention... or you answer no, and show you can't say I'm wrong and that your only intent was to nit pick. In either case, it's clear why you're unwilling to answer my very simple question.

I have to wonder if they're given specific goals to accomplish during their brief tenures here - if Hartley tells them what they can (and can't) do . . . Surprised to see that they have both have good draw percentages. I guess that's just not enough.
