I can barely believe that Marleau didn't score sitting at 399.
I thought the Flames outplayed the Sharks and deserved the win. Great to see Kipper back in net, he's incredible. That injury might be a bit of a blessing if it got him missing the game and sparked his enthusiasm. He seemed more into the game tonight than earlier in the year.
Baertschi really struggled tonight. He looked like he's not ready and I wouldn't be very surprised if he is sat or sent down when Backlund returns. San Jose is a bad matchup for him since they are huge, but he was holding back Tanguay and Cammalleri tonight, not helping them.

This is something that was engrained into their practices before though. Wideman doesn't do it because he's new, but he's prone to criticism for bad decisions. Bouwmeester is much better.
The flames look like they can actually pass the puck and know where it's going. That's refreshing compared to the past 2.5 seasons.

Led by our captain. Thank goodness his slow start is over.
Looks like that rest really did Kipper some good. He was sure solid tonight
The game was fairly even until the third period. I figured the Sharks might start getting tired in the third, after their game last night.
Maybe breaking the 500 hockey will give them the confidence to build further and get in the playoffs...especially if Kipper gets hot.

As for Sven, it's at the point I'd rather see him sent down. He's got the skillset, but needs to add some muscle and get used to playing against bigger guys for the rest of the year. I think putting him in the minors for the rest of the year wouldn't be a bad thing. He's close.....just not quite there yet.

As long as they are bringing Horak up, I'm fine with it. Comeau should not be a regular top 9 until Backlund returns.

Iginla hurt, Kipper was hurt and Turek was in net, Oliwa with a match penalty for intent to injure Giguere.

Kadri might not be a bad comparable for Sven actually. He showed flashes last season and they sent him down when he struggled and it has certainly paid off for the Leafs.

Loved McGratton rubbing out Murray after the whistle and "having a word" with him shortly after he hit Sven. Didn't hear much of Murray the rest of the game.

So pumped to see them win tonight. Was a solid performance.
Comeau is good at some things but passing the puck is not one of them. He is so frustrating to watch. Butler had a couple giveaways tonight that alsmog cost us. So great to see kipper back.
2 pts back!! Keep it rolling boys.

Agreed, rather see him racking up points in the minors gaining confidence instead of getting injured, being held pointless and playing 12 min a game. Hes not quite ready and I'd hate to see him ruined like some other young guys on another team that I won't mention in this happy thread.

Wasn't the last time Kipper got injured in that month in 04'? They won against Anaheim, then went to cup finals?
March 2013, Kipper returns from Injury, Flames going to Anaheim.
2013-2004 = 9.
9 + 25 = 34
34 = Kipper.
Coincidence? I think not...

The last time we won in Anaheim Iginla didn't play due to injury. So do we need to sit Iginla next game?

Butler played 22 minutes tonight and was a +3. He has his rough stretches, but tonight he was pretty good.
Gio has to find his game. If he returned to the Gio of old it would be massive for this team. His confidence seems a bit shot.
