It would be more meaningful if the teams in tied games didn't spend the last 10 minutes of the 3rd playing for their loser point.
No way does this compare to any of the teams prior to the introduction of the shootout.
Completely wrong. If the current system makes it easier for teams to go undefeated how come no other teams have done it or are doing it? Chicago is simply getting it done. Very impressive.

Absolutely cheering for them now. Impressive team to watch.
I concur. While my heart bleeds the "Flaming C", I cannot feel bad about cheering for this team. Every night they play "inspired" and as a hockey fan it is simply breathtaking to watch.

I know it's over two years ago now, but a lot of the same core is there. I still find it hard to actually root for a personality like Patrick Kane, but damn if I don't respect his talent.

The Flames play them twice more. Once at the end of this month, then the last game of the season. Both times in the Hawks' building.
Those games will be tough.
I am somewhat half-heartedly hoping they go entirely undefeated in regulation until the last game against the Flames. Since we are unlikely to see playoffs this year it would be the highlight of the year to end their regulation undefeated streak.
Doubt they can last that long without a regulation loss, however. And if they do, not sure the Flames are the ones who are going to crack it.
One thing not talked about is the significance of not playing eastern conference teams. While there are a couple teams that have played the hawks well the pens or another east team in a regular season may have been able to take more advantage. But they're still getting it done night after night which is very impressive
At this point in the season I'm sure fans of every team cheer for the Hawks to win unless its against their team. With only western conference matchups they are just taking points away from every teams opponents and are obviously going to clinch a playoff spot before long.

meh....
I love the hawks when it's chi vs van in the playoffs.
I'm just happy that the hawks are propelling into truly elite status while the canucks are in one of hteir last years of their "contending window".
Am impressed with Kane. Immature guy with all world talent, seems to have taken a new approach altogether this year, and has shown that he belongs in the league super-elite.
Only big question mark with this team is goaltending come playoff time i think.
