Yep.Said it in Kippers injury press release. I'd let him wait out until the end of the season as well. Flames have bigger fish to fry from this point in time to the deadline.

Avangard Omsk are leading the series 3-2. Ramo with 2 shutouts, latest one yesterday in the 1-0 OT win.

Bumped because it is pretty much the exact opposite of what he tweeted a week ago.

KHL contracts run until the end of april, regardless of whether or not the team is still playing.
However, it is also possible to get the player's team, Omsk, to release him early. It's a simple buyout.
Not saying it will happen, or that Omsk is willing. Just saying that this is a possibility.

As we know now, he would have to pass through waivers if he was in fact bought out, then signed while in an NHL season. I do not think they will travel the buy out path from omsk for a limited viewing near the end of this season.

Is Ramo a UFA this summer? I only ask because i know Feaster likes him, and would still want to get him on the team, but i am not sure Feaster will be around in the summer?
If he is not under contract the new GM might not even want to look at him.

Do we know that? Wouldn't he be an unsigned player? Is he on their reserve list?

How is Avangard in terms of goals for/against overall? I recall last year, someone mentioned that Ramo's numbers were somewhat inflated because the coach ran a defensive system.

I do not know for sure but I would wager a guess that he isn't. Just guessing but if they were aware they could not buy him out this season and that he wasn't eligible until APR. 30 I would assume they left him off.
I should have thought before I posted. I forgot that the team with the players rights would not have to put him through waivers.

Seems like they did 2.86 goals per game and let in 2.32 goals per game in the regular season. Although, I have to admit Omsk plays a defensive system, the playoff series which now is going on is all about defense, pretty boring to watch, but nevertheless, he ain't letting easy ones in.

.500 points %, 3.00 GAA, .900 Save %? Holy ****, better lock that **** up for six years lest we risk losing it.

Ramo is our RFA he would not have to pass through waivers. That is about the only interpretation of the rule we actually know is correct.

Yeah sorry, I corrected myself in the same post. Question for me now is. Is Ramo officially on the reserve list? and does that have an efect on the waiver situation as well.

You have seen the team that plays in front of him, correct? Have you seen the saves he has made? Did you happen to notice how many games he has kept us in? He is the first back up in a long time that the Flames have actually shown up in front of in a long, long time. Even the games they don't show up he still keeps us in.
Yeah, lock it up.

Based on my reading of the CBA, the reserve list and RFA list are two different things:
Quote:
"Reserve List" means the list of all Players to whom a Club has rights including all Unsigned Draft Choices, all Players signed to an SPC (whether or not currently playing in the NHL), and all Players who have signed an SPC but who have subsequently been returned to Juniors. A Club may have on its Reserve List, at any one time, not more than 90 Players, which shall include the following:
(a) Not more than 50 Players signed to an SPC and not less than 24 Players and 3 goalkeepers under an SPC. Age 18 and age 19 Players who were returned to Juniors, and who have not played 11 NHL Games in one season, shall be exempt from inclusion in the 50 Player limit.
Any Club violating this provision shall be liable to loss of draft choices as determined by the Commissioner.
(b) Unsigned Draft Choices. "Restricted Free Agent" means a Player whose SPC has expired, but who is still subject to a Right of First Refusal and/or Draft Choice Compensation in favor of his Prior Club as described in Article 10 of this Agreement.

the CBA states players on the reserve list and the RFA list are exempt.
