I wonder if city names get censored at all. If so that would make most of my standard names unusable

They do. Even more innocuous words. In beta, I had a city named "Weinerville" and it got turned into "***********".

So odd. I noticed the map of Viridian Woods wasn't working, so I went to google to find it. Found this page: http://koroney.com/games/simcitys_maps/
Looked at it closer, they took everything off Calgarypuck, haha.
