No OOT?

In Boston, Emelin cheap shots Seguin and Chara goes after him.

In Minnesota, the Oilers get ZERO shots in the 2nd period.

Chara is a monster. Imagine one of our players sticking up for our goalie when he got run.

More than half of Sunday's OOT schedule were matinees.

There are three games in progress are:

-at-

Forever rivals
--Montreal at Boston on NBC Sports in the USA and on RDS in Canada in french. The game is also on regionally in english on TSN Habs. The Bruins lead 3-2 after two periods.

-at-

Buffalo at New Rangers--watching the updates and live look ins on NHL Network, it is a great game. The Sabres had a 1-0 lead heading into the third period but headed into penalty trouble. A minor penalty followed by a major penalty and the Rangers scored on a two man advantage and then a one man advantage to take the lead. The Sabres tied it with a shorthanded goal towards the end of the major penalty, it is 2-2.

-at-
After two periods, it is a 1-1 tie between the Wild and the Oilers. Nine seconds into the third period, the Wild take the 2-1 lead.

The earliest game began at 1030h Mountain this morning on NBC, featuring the forever rivals the visiting Blackhawks at Detroit. Chicago almost lost in regulation but tied the game 1-1 with two minutes left in the third period and went on to win it in the shootout.

The Islanders defeated the Senators 3-2 in the shootout on TVA Sports in french.

The Stars beat the Blues 4-1, the BJs over the Avalanche 2-1 in overtime, and the Hurricanes beat the Panthers 3-2 in regulation.

Those high flying Oilers with a grand total of 7 shots through 40 minutes in Minnesota. Isn't it amazing that when the Oilers don't get powerplay after powerplay they generate practically zero offense?

The Habs and Sens really piss me off.

Both teams have their own respective horrible season, then bounce right back the next season and make the playoffs (likely for MTL), and in the case of Montreal are battling for the Conference lead.

How come the Flames can't do that?

Oh yeah, because we can't draft and have no talent in the 23-27 year old range.

Never mind.

The Wild lead 4-2 late in the third period.

The Rangers win 3-2 in the shootout and were lucky to get there as the Sabres had the rare 5 on 3 power play in overtime which led to a 5 on 4 power play.

The Habs hang on and win 4-3 in regulation over the Bruins. Budaj made an awesome last second save to preserve the win. Great game!

Wonder if Emelin will think twice about doing something like that against the Bruins again?

That Gagner goal to bring the Oilers back to 3-2 might have been one of the flukeiest goals ever.

What happened to RNH? He looked really good last year but this season he looks lost. I know he's a skinny kid but that didn't seem to bother him last year. Maybe that shoulder needs surgery.
