There are guys that need to be held accountable long before we look to a rookie.

Definitely agree, and he's far down on my list of players I have concerns about, but I can't help but feel a little disappointed by his start this season.
I wasn't expecting numbers like he did in those 5 games last season, but I was expecting him to be more noticeable than he is.

Maybe during 5 on 5, but not on the powerplay. You have to work as hard or harder than the opposition on special teams if you hope to be successful.
I've never seen such a sorry power play in my life. It's not a lack of skill, or experience, it's all mental with this core. This core is the most mentally weak and fragile group in the league. They crack under pressure.

I don't really agree. Regardless of how much money is being spent, this is a poorly built team that has had significant injuries and no-shows to start the year. So being at .500 with one NHL center on the roster, their best offensive player contributing close to nothing to this point, and their #1 goaltender being injured for most of the season, isn't all that bad and overachieving in my mind.

personally I'd rather they just try and focus on a better result Thursday. Hopefully they can get the PP back on track!

Smith let in weak goals, normally he wouldn't do that.

Admittedly I missed the entire game tonight, I followed it on twitter and score mobile. Sounds like I didn't miss much. Another typical game against Minny.
When will management simply admit our best players aren't very good??? I don't know if its leadership (Lack there of), age, coaching (that excuse is getting pretty old) but the best player on this team continuously just aren't the best players on the ice.
Please, Please, Trade our "top six core" Iginla, Tanguay, Cammy and Glenx simply are ineffective on too many nights.
A poster said it above, a team that spends to the cap should not be fighting to flirt with .500. Please Feaster, trade what assets we have and let our prospects actually develop.
Evander Kane had 14 goals his first season, 19 his second and 30 his third year. It's no wonder players like Backlund have such low offensive totals (when hes not injured) there is gonna be growing pains but lets see what the kids have, let them grow from their mistakes, and not by burring them on the fourth lines with Jackman, Begin, Comeau and Roy, Mccgratten, etc before.
Our primary focus should be developing Beartschi, Backlund, Horak, Jones, Aliu and Brody.
Playing behind our existing top six forwards will only stunt their growth. Let those guys develop and hope the next wave, Jonny G, Grandlund, Jankowski are even better.
Im just so sick of the same old flames losses......
WAY OFF TOPIC BUT......
Also I saw what Boomer put on twitter before Minny ended up tying it, maybe it was inevitable....but man his act is getting tiresome. Separate rant but the FAN960 morning team is getting disgustingly annoying. The B rate talent needs to end. TSN radio cant get here soon enough....even if they do hate the Flames.

For me that pass lasts fairly long as the Flames need him (or someone like him) to develop and this season is more about his play than production. I think he hasn't looked out of place when I have watched (for the most part) and actually think he has been better than Cerevenka just doesn't have the production.
He certainly hasn't been quite what I thought he would be offensively in terms of production but he has been good enough that I think he deserves a bigger role.

No kidding. This team has been getting raped night in and night out on the faceoff dot for 3 years. Feaster has seen it for two years as the GM and he's done nothing. Oh wait, he had a pie in the sky dream of signing Brad Richards, who Feaster SHOULD have known would not have signed here, seeing as how well he knows the guy. Then he tied his hopes on a softy euro centremen this year who he never saw play and is now a winger.
If Feaster thinks that losing over 60% of your faceoffs is not a big deal, then he clearly knows nothing about the game. It's the little things like winning faceoffs and having puck control that help you dictate the game. Where the hell are his advisors in all this? Conroy of all people should understand the importance of quality centremen. FFS COnnie, come out of retirement and get in there because if you can't open Feaster's eyes to the importance of this position, then you are better off on the ice.

They were lucky. Couple defensive breakdowns by Phoenix, bang. I'm not saying Calgary is out to lose, and I sure hope they never are, but when things look like they did tonight it shows how bad this team is. A losing culture is something that will haunt them and doesn't change overnight. Winners find ways to win, and that's not us.

No. You are wrong. You don't score two goals in the last minute on a tight defensive team with luck. It's a weak argument to make your point.
I'm not saying the Flames are world beaters, but they have worked hard the last few games.

Oh? So your saying tight defensive teams never have breakdowns? I'm pretty sure they do. Calgary is a BAD hockey club. Deny it until your blue in the face, but the same terrible product on the ice night in and night out reflects that.

Don't think the top six won a board battle all night, they were awful. D and MacDonald were quite strong, lucky to get a point.

I think the product has been better then I expected this year to be honest. I just find it interesting you will jump on the Flames for there failings (which there are many) but give no credit where its due.
