Because Begin also suffered severe career threatening hip injuries and is back playing in the NHL (even though it won't be for long) and it looks like a former top pick suffering the same injury troubles is probably not going to play another NHL game (you never know though...).
Just another situation where the 4th line plug survives and the high talent player suffers a shortened career.

can someone just que up the Dumb and Dumber "pick him up!" anyways... its in every other Waiver thread this season! .... and on a side note i like the neon siezure inducing green... it reminds me of the late 80's and early 90's ....

If you seriously think either of their goalies are "average at best" there really isn't much point debating. Luongo's career speaks for itself and Schneider, despite an iffy start this season, would solidify the goaltending for a number of teams in the league for years to come (Flames and Oilers included, though Dubnyk is slooooowly winning me over - not there yet though).

"their goalies"? Your goalies, and i was talking about Schneider. Luongo is average but has above average pads which make him better.
Oh i forgot about his twitter account, which puts Luongo into superstar range.
