No him having only 3 goals this season as a first overall pick was the "comeback" you blindly defending him is your own issue
Pointing out that he is scoring at a point per game, playing decent defense and doing better than the other 4 of the "big 5", especially everyones favorite Eberle, is blindly defending him?
St. Louis has 4 goals I guess he is crap, Malkin has 4 goals hope he enjoys that ceiling coming crashing down on him.
Who gives a crap if he fights or not. He almost out hit the entire flames defense alone!
I hope when Bouma comes back he is half as good as Clutterbuck.
Yes, yes, we get it. The Flames are soft and they suck and they can't win or score or do anything right. And absolutely none of that has anything to do with Taylor Hall's hit on Cal Clutterbuck and what Clutterbuck may do in response.
There are a hundred threads for you to whine about the Flames in. Go use one of them.

Of course they are....when the guy getting hit has the puck. Not the case here and in doing so, Hall was beyond wreckless and in fact had nothing but intent to injure a defenseless player in this situation.

I would suggest its a phone hearing because he cant get to Toronto in time to do it face to face and the NHL wants the suspension to begin immediately.

They can't give suspensions by phone if I remember correctly
They can give suspensions by phone, it just won't be more than 5 games.

Busy OOT with 8 road teams winning topped off with the Hall infraction. The Wild win 3-1 over the Oilers. The upsets were the Islanders 4-3 OT win over the Habs In MTL and the BJs 3-2 reg win over Detroit at the Joe! Both were down two goals. The Isles are Jekyll and Hyde lately. The Canucks finally beat a team from another division, the Stars, 4-3 in reg time. The Stars use there 3rd stringer, Nilstorp in goal. The Bruins blow a 2 goal lead but rally to win 4-2 over Tampa. The Jets win 4-3 in reg time over the Hurricanes. The Devils win the 1st game in this home-away series against the Capitals 3-2 in reg time. Brodeur was great again. The home team Senators win in the SO 3-2 over the Rangers. Gotta feel for the Sens as Anderson gets hurt. Bishop played well in relief. The Leafs win 3-1 to spoil Ron Rolston's coaching debut for the Sabres.
I'm surprised there was no thread on CP for the Hall hit?
I think he should get 5 games but being that it is Hall he gets 3.
If Hall got hit like that it is without a doubt 5 games or even more.
Definatly a late and predatory hit in the way the NHL analyizes East West hits that are delivered when the player is unaware.
It also looks like knee on knee but i don't think its 100% conclusive if there was a camera angle from the opposite side you could get a more accurate contact point.
But it looked like he clipped him right across the knee.
When Hall realized as he was looping back around that he had a chance to nail Clutterbuck he made up his mind he was hitting him regardless and looked like he targeted the leg.
Hall even post game said "i could have hit him in the head but i chose not to"
"i hit him a bit late"
Kind of a strange comment i thought about the head.
On a selfish side note Clutterbuck won't be playing anytime soon so that is good news for the Flames.

Because Hall is insignificant to the league. He will go the way of Daigle in a couple of years.
Clutterbuck is the Chuck Norris of hockey. He will be back in a week!
Looking at the video a couple of times I actually think Hall's contact point was the hip - basically hip on upper thigh/pelvis of Clutterbuck.
Found this after I wrote the line above:
And am inclined to agree. It wasn't a knee, but it was definately interference and Clutterbuck wasn't expecting it. Anyone know if they know/released Clutterbuck's injury status? It doesn't make it right, but I wonder if some of it was payback.
I'm thinking a couple or three games, but it shouldn't be for kneeing.
Well I certainly didn't care for the hit, that's for sure. I can't get behind the "Cal had it coming" rationalization, but I can understand it from an Edmonton perspective. He has terrorized the Oilers since he broke into the league.
